The up, down, play, pause, as well as all the call features all worked fine on both pairs. The chords have a little tensioner on them. The tips near the lightning dock came with removable blue wrap indicating they’re new or can be left on to distinguish one from the other while the rest of them are white with some light grey. The max volume on them is just a little bit lower than my Bluetooth headphones that cost about 35-40 bucks, but they are adequate for what they are. Given that you get two pairs of these they’re a pretty decent deal. Not much different than the apple pair that came with the phone. Very minor distortion in the bass here & there if turned up to full volume and occasional tin like sound not likely discernible to most, I was just comparing them to other headphones I had, and I certainly don’t expect Bose for this price. There’s nothing distracting about the sound quality. Oddly though, the volume maxes out when the phone volume hits half way like about 8 presses up from the bottom while the last 7 or so remain at that volume. Same on both so not faulty, just how they’re made. If judging them based on any and all headphones I’d give them 3 stars but for the price range they’re about as good as you’re likely to find. Wow, sound quality is super! They sound just like the Apple headphones which cost about 2x more. Initially; when I received these, I was worried because most headphones (if not from Apple), I have an issue with. I do have an iPhone 12 Pro Max, if that helps. The packaging was great and the headphones were for sure secured and snuggled <3. They also have the volume control button attached to the wired headphones, which not every pair of wired headphones come with. They’re two pairs! So the amount you pay for these are a steal! Aka worth it! I do wish the headphone lobe piece was a bit smaller because I have the tiniest earlobes so sometimes they fall out but they fit most people. These are a good, cheaper alternative to Apple headphones. They work just as well and look pretty much identical. I’m glad they finally have an alternative for the lightning port because I always had to add an adapter to use cheaper ones.

I picked these up because it is becoming harder to find lightning connector headphones. I still appreciate a good wired connection because you get reliable sound quality without any of the fuss or setup. Just plug them in and enjoy! These work great out of the box, plug and play. My music sounds fine and the microphone works too. I do think the headphones from the original manufacturer sound a little bit better, but these are a great value and provide the same aesthetic and function. In particular, these are great for travel and working out when you don't want to put much more expensive headphones at risk.
