  • Great Way to Make Use of the Batteries You Already Own
If you're like me and have accumulated batteries from different cordless tool platforms over the years, adapters like these are incredibly useful. Being able to use my existing DeWalt 20V MAX or Milwaukee M18 batteries with compatible M12 tools means fewer batteries and chargers to keep track of. The adapters are simple to use. Slide your DeWalt or M18 battery into the adapter, connect it to the M12 tool, and you're ready to go. Both connections fit securely, and I haven't had any problems with excessive movement or losing connection while using a tool. I also really like that you get two adapters. I can leave one in the garage and another with my tools rather than constantly moving the same adapter around. Obviously, putting an M18 or DeWalt 20V battery onto an M12 tool makes the tool considerably bulkier than using a normal M12 battery. That's the tradeoff. For me, the convenience of using batteries I already have outweighs the extra size and weight, especially when I'm not trying to squeeze the tool into a tight area. One important thing to understand is that these are power adapters only, not charging adapters. Remove the battery and charge it using its proper original charger. Pros: works with both DeWalt 20V MAX and Milwaukee M18 batteries, lets you power compatible M12 tools from batteries you already own, simple plug-and-play design, secure fit, and you get two adapters. Cons: larger 18V/20V batteries add noticeable size and weight to an M12 tool. Overall: These are extremely handy if you already own multiple battery platforms. Instead of buying more M12 batteries for tools I may only use occasionally, I can make use of the batteries already sitting in my garage. Simple idea, easy to use, and getting two in the package makes it an even better value. ... show more

  • Well-executed adapters with built-in step-down voltage conversion
These battery adapters are solidly constructed and provide a very practical way to run Milwaukee M12 12V tools using 18V or 20V battery platforms. The adapters fit cleanly and securely inside M12 tool sockets, and compatible DeWalt and Milwaukee 18V batteries slide on firmly without any slop or risk of falling off. A very pleasant surprise is that these adapters feature a genuine built-in step-down converter. They actively step down the higher voltage of the 18V or 20V battery to 12V, so you do not have to worry about overdriving or damaging your 12V M12 tools. The main trade-off is inherent to any adapter of this style: it extends the base of the tool significantly, shifting the weight balance and increasing the overall size. For compact drills and drivers where getting into tight spaces is the main goal, this added bulk may be cumbersome. However, for tools where balance and compact size are less critical, the performance is flawless. Plusses: Solid build quality with a precise and secure fit in M12 tools Built-in step-down converter protects 12V tools from over-voltage Batteries lock on securely without wobble Convenient two pack option Negatives: Extends battery base significantly, shifting tool balance and adding bulk Final verdict: 5 out of 5 stars. While adding a larger battery inevitably changes tool balance, these adapters are exceptionally well-executed, function as promised, and include proper voltage step-down protection. ... show more

  • They work as advertised
I bought these because my brother uses Milwaukee M12 tools while I have a collection of DeWalt 20V tools, and we share the same shop. I figured these adapters would be handy if we ever needed to run one of his M12 tools using one of my DeWalt batteries. So far, they work exactly as advertised. The adapter fits securely, and the tool runs without any issues. It definitely beats having to stop working because the correct battery is sitting on the charger. The only downside is that the adapter makes the base of the tool a little bulkier, which can affect the balance slightly. It isn’t a deal breaker, but it’s something to be aware of. I also want to mention one word of caution. I’ve used similar battery adapters in the past (not necessarily this exact brand), and I once left a battery attached to an adapter while it was sitting in a tool. It slowly drained the battery to the point where it wouldn’t accept a charge. I don’t know if these adapters have the same issue, but to be on the safe side, I would recommend removing the battery and adapter from the tool when you’re done using it. Overall, these adapters do exactly what they’re supposed to do and are a great way to get more use out of batteries you already own. Because of the added bulk and the possibility of battery drain if left connected for extended periods, I’m giving them 4 stars. ... show more

  • Works Perfectly With My M12 Drills
I was skeptical that this system would work. I had obtained two generic extra capacity M12 batteries last year and one of them quit working. No longer taking a charge, I toyed with the idea of regenerating it. In the meantime, these adapters showed up online and I took a chance to see if they could actually convert my M18 battery to an M12 format. When I plugged the components in and turned on my drill, even without pre charging, the system worked perfectly. Even though the bigger batter adds quite a bit of weight, it will give longer run time on my standard drill and impact driver. UPDATE: 7/21/2026 After using the adapters with the heavy battery on my M12 drill, I experienced the unfortunate problem of these adapters coming loose from a solid connection to the drill and tried forcing them several times to make contact with the drill. Unfortunately, they kept slipping and detaching from the drill’s interior contacts and the drill discontinued working. I tried this on both adapters and got the same result. I even taped them to the drill and still got the same result. Therefore, I have deemed them unusable. ... show more

  • Outstanding!
I grabbed this 2-pack of battery adapters so I could use my larger M18 and DeWalt 20V batteries with my smaller M12 tools around the ranch and for small repair jobs. They work exactly as advertised—solid connection with no wobble, and power transfer is reliable. I’ve run drills, impact drivers, and a small reciprocating saw without any issues or ⁴&_:overheating. The adapters are well-built with good plastic and metal contacts. Having two in the pack is convenient so I can keep one with my M12 kit and one in the truck. They click securely onto both the tools and the batteries, and I haven’t had any false starts or power drops. For the price, getting two adapters is great value compared to buying them individually. It essentially extends the usability of my existing battery ecosystem and reduces the need to carry multiple chargers or smaller batteries for quick tasks. If you own Milwaukee M12 tools and already have M18 or DeWalt 20V batteries, these adapters are a smart, money-saving addition. They’ve made my workflow much more flexible. Five stars! ... show more

  • Works well for using M18 batteries in M12 tools.
I primarily use Milwaukee cordless power tools with M18 batteries. I have a few smaller Milwaukee tools that use the M12 batteries but I don't have a lot of M12 batteries while I have a surplus of M18 batteries. Instead of buying more M12 batteries, I decided to buy these "step down" adapters that will allow you to use a M18 battery in a M12 tool. They work well for that and they are advertised to also work with Dewalt 20V max batteries but I don't own any of those batteries to test. These were a great value and I love the peace of mind they provide when I'm on a jobsite knowing I can just plug in a M18 battery if my M12 tool dies. ... show more
