We have 2 water fountains that have been of no use to us and sitting unused in the corner of our yard for some time. Since we have an over abundant population of hummingbirds and others we decided to put these 2 Solar powered fountains to good use. Acquiring these solar bird bath kits provided us with everything we need to make an oasis for our feathered friends. After cleaning the fountains we started to assemble the birdbaths but ran into an issue, there are absolutely no written instructions included in the kit. Nothing! We did find a short video on the product page that somewhat showed how to assemble so we followed along. Once assembly was done we set out the solar panels in the proper direction to expose them to the most amount of sunlight that we could. The water immediately started to pump. One by one we changed the nozzles out to see which spray design we liked the best. Once this was chosen we placed the fountains in an accessible place for the birds and waited. It was just a short time later that they discovered the cool oasis in the hot June sun. At it’s peak, the water spray reached a height of a little over 4 feet in the air. This was due to the great amount of energy being absorbed by the solar panel. Covering a portion of the solar panel would reduce the performance of the pump. There is no battery on this and is powered strictly by the energy gathered from the solar panels directly. The solar baths were genuinely taken advantage of my many of the birds especially our little hummingbirds. These wonderful birdbath fountains brought new life to our old fountains and provided cool refreshing water to our little flying friends. ... show more

In my photo, I show the pump in my birdbath without a diffuser, so it is simply squirting a solid stream of water out to fall back into the birdbath. The pumps are fairly strong with bright light and so this was the best solution for my own purposes, and I am very happy with it overall. The falling water makes a nice sound and plenty of agitation of the water surface, attracting birds to stop by for a drink from time to time. Solar panels work great on these! I got it for my bird bath and it’s super cute. Doesn’t shoot up to high or splash, works just as it should. Did try a few different spouts before I found the one I liked the best!
