I got the 2 pack of Treewell motion sensors. These were easy to wire into my old lights. Setup and configuration were straightforward. Motion reaction works well, and was fairly easy to direct and target an area. HOWEVER, one of the sensors light timing does not work correctly. Lights come on for only 5 seconds regardless of whether it is set to 1, 5, or 10 minutes. It is as if it were set to "test" mode, but it is not. This is the reason I gave it 3 stars. The other unit works 100%, and the light timing reacts appropriately. UPDATE: Treewell is wonderful. They reached out to me, and wanted to fix the problem. They suggested I try several setting changes, and when those didn't work they sent me a replacement for the problem unit. I wired in the replacement sensor, but the problem STILL persisted. Was the 2nd unit faulty too? I found that hard to believe. To test things further I was about to swap the sensors between the working location and the problem location, when I noticed that the flood light bulbs were different. The bulbs in the working location had flat fronts and darker silvering on the sides, while the problem location had bulbs with protruding glass fronts, and tended to shine more light to the sides. So I switched the light bulbs instead. Now the units work in both locations as designed, and will stay lighted for the time set on the sensor. I believe what was happening was that the ambient side light from the protruding bulb was triggering the sensor into thinking it was daylight every time the motion sensor turned on the light. That's why the light would not stay on more than 10 seconds. Now, with the problem bulbs in the new location I can point the lights further apart ( I couldn't really do that in the old location.) So the sensors can be quite sensitive to environmental light. Regardless, I have 2 working sensors now, and I greatly appreciate Treewell's efforts in getting this working. I'm changing my rating to 5 stars.

These motion detectors are much smaller then any other motion detector but don’t let the size scare you away! They maybe small but they work flawlessly and I will be purchasing more of them as I do maintenance for a man that owns 48 properties! I plan on keeping 12 of them stocked in my work van because he has so many older motion detectors that will be needing to be replaced!

This sensor works great and does all that it is designed to do but beware of a common problem; it’s action can be disrupted by lamp heat. I purchased these sensors and tried them on two different outdoor lights. The sensor was close to the LED elements and when in test mode they would go on but stay on because the sensor would continuously trigger. Because it happened with both sensors (which I didn’t believe to be at fault) I did some testing and found that when the sensor and light unit were separated they worked perfectly. The sensor uses PIR or passive infrared detection which senses changes in heat levels. So, if you have problems try moving the sensor farther from the lights.
