My inclination was to give these lamps a three star review for several reasons: - They can be described as "metal" the same what you might describe the wrapper to a stick of gum as metal. They are flimsy and feel more plastic but are, in fact, a thinly stamped metal. - Installation was easy - three wires and a couple of screws. If you're familiar with wiring a lamp, you won't have any trouble. The lamp mount, however, is brittle plastic. Overtighten and it will crack. More likely, a few years of heat from the LEDs and it will crack on its own - then down comes the lamp. - There is nearly zero clearance between the lamp base and the ceiling, so make sure there is enough room in the junction box to push all the wire nuts into. - The provided mounting screw heads are larger than the slots they are supposed to fit into. This means that you cannot preinstall the screws into the junction box and twist mount the lamps as intended. You have to blindly line everything up and hope you can get the screws seated. - The plastic dome is not easily seated in the frame and has an overall cheap feel to it. - My pack looked like it may have been a return as one of the lamps was disassembled and missing parts. The reason I'm actually giving these four stars instead of three is that they don't hold themselves up to being anything more than a set of cheap lamps, and frankly, once installed, they don't look all that terrible. I installed the pair in my walk-in closet where they are just high enough to be out of reach and unnoticeable with regard to their overall lack of quality. Yes, I might have been happier with a set a lamps that I spent a few hundred bucks each on, but really, why? These will serve their purpose, I'll never have to change a bulb again, and if the mounts do ever crack and come loose, I won't feel guilty replacing them. Until then, these lamps are perfectly bright, offer multiple color temperature options, and serve their purpose. All qualities for which I cannot fault them. ... show more
