So far Im very pleased with the purchase of this electric burner. I especially like the fact it has a timer to control when it turns off. I'm elderly and have a gas range but unfortunately I had left the gas on low several times. I was looking into a safety measure solution to my forgetfulness. Non was found. I even was looking to replacing my gas range to electric but unfortunately that was a very expensive solution that I didn't want to incur. I then thought about an electric portable cooktop. I reviewed many on Amazon. I purchased this burner because of it having the timer and other safty features. After having used it for awhile, I'm very pleased with the 1400 watt burner. I had concerns about how long it would take to get something to boil. It does great! It's actually faster than my gas range. I've stir fryed on it and it was perfect. I didn't install it in the counter but I'm using it right on top of the counter next to the range. I it fits right in with the kitchen colors and look. And it works on 110 volt electric. No big expense to put 240 volt line to kitchen. It literally is a life saver! ... show more

It is especially suitable for small kitchens. Two burners are enough for stir-frying or cooking. The heating speed is okay, there are 9 power adjustments, it is simple and easy to use, without complicated functions, and it is very easy to get started. The residual heat railing is very considerate. It can remind you that the stove surface is still hot after use to avoid scalding your hands. The installation is also simple. It can be embedded or placed directly on the counter for use. It is flexible. However, the surface is prone to fingerprints and water stains, and you have to wipe it after each use to make it comfortable.     • hardwire, no plug
When I ordered this, it said plug and go but when it arrived it came as a hardwire unit with no plug. It's not what I was looking for. I don't really have a place that I want to install this so even if it is a great cook unit, it's not what the description said it was and it's not what I wanted.
