  • Decent option for a tiny house, or even an RV (if your RV has 15A 120V electricity)
After reading the manual and discovering some badly formed English I decided to test this outside and powered from a GFCI circuit before connecting it in the house. I built a platform to mount it in so that it would have air cirulation beneath it. I started by measuring power usage. With the unit turned off, but plugged in, it consumes 0.1 W of standby power which is quite good. Less than 1 kWh per year when it is off. When turned on, but with the borners off, it consumes 0.3 W of power. If turned on, but with the burners off, it automatically turns off in a few minutes. A good safety feature. The small burner was turned to 9 and it consumed 6.4 A or 717 W at PF 1. The large burner on 9 consumed 8.2 A and 902 W. Below the max ratings of 800 W and 1000 W. In repeated testing the small and large burners would occasionally hit a max at 802 W and 1000 W. The burner sizes are 7-3/4" and 6-1/4". It is sturdy. I didn't see any problems with the construction, fit or finish, which was a surprise for an inexpensive double burner. Some issues: 1) I cooked a meal on the two burners using handled pot and a fry pan. Both have thick bases that were the appropriate size for the burners. Howevver, the fry pan and pot could not both fit completely over the buner (see picture). Nevertheless the stove performed fine, so I thiink this is a very minor issue. 2) The Amazon listing page clearly shows a curved bottom pan, much like a mini-wok. Howevver, the manual specifically states to not use a curved bottom pan because of the burners pan presence sensor. This could be an issue for some people. 3) The small burner took a little longer to get up to temperature to boil water for mashed potatoes on level 9 than my GE glass kitchen 120V cooktop. But once it was boiling I was able to maintain a boil even at level 4. So it appears that there is higher thermal mass in this stove than the GE stove. That could be good or bad depending on what you are cooking. 4) Of course, some grammar issues in the product manual. I rate items with 4 stars for items that meet all claims. Remove stars for failed claims. And add stars for exceeding my expectations. In this case the few issues demoted a star, but the build quality exceeded my expectations, so back to 4 stars. And it's current price of $130 is about equal to other two burner cook tops here on Amazon. I think it's a decent option for a tiny house or RV. ... show more

  • Works as Freestanding Counter Stove!
I'm so excited to report that this works as a freestanding stove for my kitchen counter. I was worried that it would burn my counter. I didn't know if it would get hot on the bottom, and now that it's cooled off I realized that I do have a thermometer to check how hot places get, but I did put my hand near the bottom of it while it was frying up ham, and I didn't feel any noticeable heat. Heat. So I assume that it wasn't getting hot on the bottom. I don't know how that works from a scientific perspective, but I'm very pleased to report that it works great! I will note that we did place it on a metal cookie sheet type of rack. I don't know what it's called technically speaking, but you can see it in the photo. It's about an inch off of the counter. And I'm just so happy with this. Not only does it look sleek, but it actually worked perfectly at maintaining the necessary 10 pictures to make an entire meal. 🙂 We do have a stove, but I got this with the intent to use while camping or other potential scenarios. I have a portable battery that allows me to plug things into it. So I wanted to see how this would work in advance of camping, and it works great! I didn't check it on my actual battery brick, to be clear. You might want to check that before going camping, I was more concerned about getting this review out for you. I will also add that even though I do have a stove, I may just start using this on the island, as we did for dinner tonight. It was actually nice to be able to have our faces toward the family while preparing dinner, and not with our backs turned to them, which our kitchen stove is positioned like. This does come with extensive instructions on installing it. I am to understand that it's intended to be put into a counter, but I actually haven't looked at those directions closely, and I'm currently in the middle of a renovation project. So if I do figure out something new I will try to come back and let you know. Know. But it seems like a really well-designed product, and based on the manual it seems like there's good product support. I'd say that you can buy this with confidence. 🙂 ... show more

  • Well-made and Heats Fast - Best for Fixed Use
Item Reviewed: 2 Burners Electric Cooktop, 12 Inch Built-in Ceramic Cooktop, 120v Plug in Electric Stove Top with Child Lock, Timer, Sensor Touch Control, Over-Temperature Protection ℹ️ Summary I picked this up hoping to use it as a portable 2-burner setup for extra cooking space, but it didn’t quite work out that way. Because of the cord placement underneath, it doesn’t sit evenly on its own, and the bottom gets warmer than I’m comfortable with for setting directly on a surface. That said, when I tested it with a grilled cheese, it worked great - quick to heat and cooked evenly. If you’re looking for a built-in or fixed-location cooktop, this is a solid option. ✅ What I Like - Excellent build quality. - Touch controls give it a sleek, modern feel. - Two burner sizes offer nice versatility. - Heats up quickly and performs well. ❌ What Could be Better - Nothing major. My issue is more about my intended use. I may build a custom stand to make it work as a portable unit. Here is how I rate items: 5 ⭐️ = Completely exceeds expectations. 4 ⭐️ = Works well with minor concerns. 3 ⭐️ = Does the job, nothing special. 2 ⭐️ = Some things work, but lots of issues. 1 ⭐️ = Didn’t work well, not worth it. ... show more
