This is a perfect starter tank for just about anyone. I love ichthyology but my 5 year old is just starting to get into it. She asked for her own tanks and I've looked up tons of them. Most are either bare bones or they dumb things down too much. She's a smart girl and can keep up with the adults as far as learning new things. This tank is perfect! It comes with everything including lights, aeration, filter and gravel. The 2.5 gal size is perfect for her, I had her pick three fish for the tank and she loves them. The lights have three different settings and she had fun learning what all the lighting options offered. She even learned about red lighting and why that's not desirable or included. The aerator has two options, which she also researched. Now she understands why sometimes it's necessary to use the "grumbly one", so the fish have proper oxygen. My favorite part is the filter, which never needs replacing. As a minimalist with consciousness over my ecofootprint, a permanent filter is heavily preferred over adding a new filter to landfills every month. It's big enough to house a few fish but small enough to fit easily on her small dresser. She wakes up every day excited to greet and feed her new fish. This tank was a huge success, I'm so glad we found it!

When I chose this tank, I get the error message when clicking on it so there’s not much info to go off of in what you’re getting. Not only that but the only included picture is misleading. You don’t get any decorations except the pebbles. Which isn’t a deal breaker but again the picture shows otherwise. Picture doesn’t include a lid so I ordered one, only for the package to include a lid. The picture shows the light on the side of the tank however with the included lid there’s only one cut out space for the light, which is on the back in the middle

I wanted a small tank to keep some shrimp and live plants at my workspace and this kit was exactly what I was looking for. The ultra-clear glass really makes a difference compared to the standard cheap tanks because the view isn’t distorted at all and the colors of the plants look super vibrant. The 2.5 gallon size is just right for a desktop since it doesn’t take up too much room but still gives plenty of space for a nice aquascape. The LED light is surprisingly bright and has been keeping my low-light plants growing well without any issues. I was also happy with the filter because it runs very quiet which is important when it is sitting right next to my computer all day. Having the gravel and rocks included made the initial setup a breeze and I had everything running in under 20 minutes. The lid fits snug so I don’t have to worry about water evaporating too fast or anything jumping out. It is a great all-in-one starter kit for anyone looking to get into nano tanks or wanting a clean looking home for a snail or a few shrimp.

I wanted a small low maintenance aquarium for my office desk to help me relax during the day. This kit came with almost everything I needed to get started right away. The clear glass provides a great view of my snail and the live plants I added. The LED light is bright enough to keep the greenery healthy without causing too much algae growth. It fits perfectly in a small corner without taking up valuable workspace. I found that the filter intake is a bit strong for very small shrimp, so I had to add a sponge cover. It also states it comes with a tank cover, but mine was not in the box.

This is a great little nano tank for the babies that come out of our 175-gallon tank. It works really well as a safe, separate space for tiny fish that are just too small to be in with the larger tank setup. For that purpose, it has been a very handy little aquarium to have around. The glass is nice and clear, which makes it easy to keep an eye on the babies, and the size is perfect for a desktop, counter, or smaller space. I also like that it comes with everything you need to get started, which makes setup simple and convenient right out of the box. Having the light, filter, lid, gravel, and rock included is a big plus. This would also be really cute for shrimp, snails, or even a planted setup. It has a clean look and makes a nice little display tank while still being practical. Overall, this is a very nice nano aquarium kit, especially if you need a smaller tank for fry, temporary separation, or a simple little aquatic setup.

This 2.5 gallon, small fish tank comes with everything you need to start up a new hobby or accessorize your current set up with a little specialty tank for use as a breeder tank, hospital tank, or any number of things that you can use a small tank for. The quality is pretty good, but for the price, I would expect a better filter system. The one supplied requires the water level to be too low in order to function properly, making it look like you have not filled it up enough. I would plan on upgrading the filter system, which, of course, means even more expense.
