My first one arrived broken but the company was quick to send a replacement. Looks amazing on our counter and my fish loves it. The filter works surprisingly well and has kept his water clean for almost 3 weeks now without any issues. The LED light is great and was exactly what we wanted. The light timer has also been super useful as it turns on exactly when we want it to but also turns off so we don't forget. My fish loves his new tank. It’s the perfect size and the roundness allows him to do laps for hours like a race car! And the filter is so quiet which is wonderful But the light is a joke. Ran out of battery juice after a day and less then a week after it stopped working all together, even with new batteries. I’m sure glad I did I saw a bunch of horrible reviews on the shipment on the smaller tanks. Please get the 3 gallon it’s beautiful nice and tall fits right on my night stand.. love the lid and the extra space to add another cord for a water heater etc.. great quality for a plastic tank! And perfect for for my Betta his 1st tank needed to go I bought him knowing he was sick so I upgraded now he is getting better and more active. This tank holds decor very well I love my glow in the dark as it’s silicone and won’t hurt his new fins. I absolutely love the colors right now my favorite is light blue and yellow. For whatever reason yellow makes my Betta fish most active. (In a good way he was sick and bored in his old tank)! I plugged in my light and so far it does what it needs to I believe it has a battery option. Don’t do it. Even if the light does go out when plugged in I noticed that water goes up on it and overheats it. Second light is optional and would consider it. Sturdy and leak proof. We love the round shape, it feels bigger than a 5 gallon rectangle and the fish swim in circles rather than getting stuck in corners. The light could be a tad brighter. The filter was awesome, but only lasted 5 months. They probably have a warranty.... Very happy with this tank compared to other options. Would buy again:) ... show more

    • Works as a holding tank, not great for viewing

It’s compact. I bought it because I needed to put 5 shrimp and a tiny catfish in a safe place while I rehab and algae-infested aquarium. I filled it with water from the aquarium so didn’t have to wait. Had some clean gravel. It’s very quiet. Might work ok long term for a single guppy or a few shrimp, an interesting snail. I added an air stone and there was a slot to allow for the hose but that’s it - no room for a heater. What I don’t like - because of the curvature of the tank it is very hard to get an undistorted view of the fish. Lid is plastic and kind of warped, not a snug fit. Light will stay on a max of four hours and is very weak - don’t expect to grow any plants. It serves my purpose for a temporary home for my critters. If you want a mini tank to enjoy visually, get a cube or rectangular aquarium. All plastic. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I ended up with a couple of goldfish that quickly outgrew their 2 gallon tank within one month. Ordered this one, and after doubling the amount of sea glass for the bottom and adding a replacement, Atlantis aqua submersible filter rated at 20 to 150 gallon capacity (these particular goldfish are already at 3 inches apiece and generate a lot of effluent) this tank is finally beginning to cycle properly. With the original filter, rated it up to 10 gallons, I ended up having to change the filter out almost every day and a half. But these are particularly fast growing goldfish, with smaller tetras, guppies or bettas the original in-tank filter should work fine. I did supplement the lighting with a leftover LED circle light I had from the original round tank and simply attached it to the top with a couple of small screws. I kept the original provided LED light since it has pleasing color adjustment and works well at night as a nightlight. The acrylic surface is easy to clean with a magnetic algae brush, as long as you use the soft felt pads so it doesn’t scratch. Since the tank is acrylic rather than glass, it makes the overall weight of the tank when filled easier to manage and move if needed. For the price, a really attractive tank and works well for keeping a number of bottom, mid-layer and top dwelling fish. ... show more

The shipment was really quick. All items were in box, beautiful set up. My shrimp tank looked amazing. Unfortunately, day number 12 my light just stopped working. Yes I had a decision of returning and getting a new item . However, I have baby shrimp in my tank and to locate all was going to be difficult. So I was fortunate to purchase a 7in light to place on under portion of the lid to give the tank light again. And I ended up keeping it. My tank is not even a month and I already had a problem with it. And it’s sad because it’s a beautiful tank. And the quality of the tank is well made. Yet it had a default on the lighting. And it’s sad to say they distributor does not have any light replacements on site. SMH … so if you buy ,and the light goes out just buy a 7 in led light to suction onto the lid… ... show more
