  • Good controller, responsive buttons, good joy sticks, not connection issues so far.
Color: Black
This is a good way of playing games on a gamecube, switch, or wii. The controller has a pretty good similar feel to a gamecube wavebird. It has the same dimensions but it does feel a bit cheaper. Regardless of that, there is no channel on the bottom of this like the wavebird. You are able to easily plug this device into your system without much issue. It is pretty much a plug and play for your consoles. I was not able to get this detected on my actual PC though so just be aware of that if you want it more for your PC. The USB receiver is more for the switch than PC. I did not really try much to get it to connect on my PC so it could still work. The battery on this is not too bad. I did leave it over night to charge just to be on the safe side before trying to set it up any further. It is pretty much a plug and play. The pairing is already done to both receivers. I have not tried to plug in both receivers at the same time so I am not sure what would happen if I do. The controller is pretty nice and matches the color of the black gamecube while keeping the form of the wavebird. It is able to connect to the switch for all different types of games and works great for smash brothers. The triggers are durable and I love the feel so far. You can definitely tell the material differenced between this and an original wavebird. There does not feel too much of a weight difference between the original and this one. It has a type c port on the top for charging as needed. When comparing to the wavebird or original controller, the device feels pretty nice. The joystick works great and the buttons are responsive. It does not drift or stick which is nice after playing smash brothers for quite sometime. The buttons are not too bad and look pretty close to the oem ones. The buttons do take time to break in in my opinion. as they were a bit stiff. I am able to press the buttons without issues. You can run the controller while it is being charged as well if you need to which is an added bonus. The type c cable cable provided is okay and nothing too special. I found it charges better on a power brick but it can take a few hours to fully charge. You can use it while it is charging. Overall I do enjoy using this controller. It is nice you can use it with your gamecube, wii, and switch. It is pretty nice and not bad but you can tell it does not have the same quality in terms of feel and material as the n64 controller. The receivers are easy is already paired for the most part but the trouble shooting instructions are straight forward. I like you can play on the retro consoles from afar. ... show more

  • Cant beat that price tag.
Color: Indigo
Just got into the gamecube modsing scene, and needed a few controllers. I originally was interested in a authentic wavebird as my primary controller, and had no luck finding a decent one for a good price. I was skeptical about this being a main option so I purchased this, and a nyxi warrior in case this was junk. For the price you really can't beat this thing. I've hand no connectivity issues so far, the sticks and buttons feel fantastic. And, I didn't realize until the controller was delivered that it has a rechargeable battery inside it and doesn't require AAs. I've been swapping between the 2 controllers, and while the nyxi is alot more premium feeling. If your wanting that nostalgic gamecube controller feel, this thing is a great option. I've had it hooked to my ganecube, and to my pc for dolphin. My only grip with the controller is the triggers. I've noticed that especially when racing, it likes to be held very firmly. I'd buy it again, I'm curious how multiple will act together without the channel splitter of the og wavebird. ... show more

  • Defaults to Dinput on Windows
Color: Black
The media could not be loaded. I bought this controller with the main intention of using it on the Dolphin emulator on PC. For full functionality, including rumble, you must connect the controller with the included USB dongle. Once connected, hold the start button (+) and the B button for a few seconds. There will now be 2 led lights lit up on the controller, meaning you are in Xinput mode. This will make windows see it as an Xbox 360 controller, giving you full functionality of rumble, analog triggers, etc. I spent about 4 hours trying to figure this out until I carefully went back through the small instruction pamphlet included and finally found the toggle. I write this in hopes to help anyone else who was pulling their hair out wondering why Dolphin wouldn’t give you an xinput option. That aside, the controller feels pretty decent so far. Definitely not OEM, but not terrible. Having a blast on Wind Waker now that the controller works properly! ... show more

  • Great when it works!
Color: Black
I've been using the black version for a few hours now, and the controller materials are mostly great. The analog stick feels just like the GameCube's, the c-stick material isn't the same but isn't terrible either, and the buttons and d-pad feel the same after some use. The triggers feel close to the real thing. They're not 100% accurate to someone with a lot of time on the OG controller, but they're fine. The bumpers are the worst part and feel a bit cheap. The controller is very light, which I'm a fan of and it charges through USB-C! With my praises out of the way, the reason I'm giving this a 3/5 instead of a 4 is because the controller will rapidly disconnect and reconnect while using it. I can usually go a good number of matches before it happens, but it's still frustrating. The controller will rapidly disconnect and reconnect, register buttons incorrectly while this is happening, and then finally connect fully. I'm not sure what causes it. The controller is probably the best WaveBird alternative you can find, but this issue stops it from being great. I would gladly pay $60 for a premium version of the controller that fixes the wireless issue while getting the bumpers and c-stick to match the feel of the official GameCube controller. Easy 5/5 if they can manage that. 6/15/2024 Update: Exchanged my first controller for the same one to see if it still had input issues, and sure enough, it did. I would avoid this controller until they fix that problem. Moving this from 3 stars to 1 because there's no excuse for misinputs on a controller like this. 6/17/2024 Update: Constant disconnects despite being fully charged. It's a shame because this is probably the closest we have to a modern wireless GameCube controller but it has too many issues. ... show more
