I bought a smaller safe in April and returned it five days later because I could not set security code. Besides batteries in that safe were outside. This model solves these issues and I can safely use it. It is big and secure, and I will keep it.

This unit is NOT waterproof, and I would guess it is not fireproof either as there is gaps in the edges between the door and safe body. The instructions indicate that you can use just the combination to open the safe, but that is not true you need to have the master key in the lock and then you can use the combination and between the two it will open. If you just use the combinations, it will not open the safe at all!!!!! As well, the safe indicated that it had a hidden bottom compartment that was lockable, the safe came with no such option. I contacted the site given on the instructions sheet around 2-weeks ago and have not heard a word from the company. Went back to amazon to try and contact the company and there is no information or way to contact the manufacturer. Only option is to return the safe, but it weighs around a 100 pounds so it is not easy to get it shipped back. So not sure if I will keep or return, what a pile of disappointment this safe is---do not buy this 7.2 cu.ft. safe!!!!!!!!!!! Amazon should be ashamed of selling this product on their site!!!!!!!!! ... show more

I was surprised when we first received this safe how lightweight it was. However, I have since been convinced of it's sturdiness, and it's ease of use. The safe itself is as advertised. It functions properly. Good size. Did not try out the emergency battery supply until after my 30 days was up, and then found out it was broken. The safe was packed well and received no outward damage but the key holder on the inside was made of plastic and broken. The shelf was loose inside and caused a tear in fabric. Not as well made as I thought it would be. The locking systems work fine.
