I spent several weeks contemplating whether to purchase this foldable Smith machine, particularly questioning how the removable bar would hold up with weight on it, how stable the machine would be, and whether the distance would be adequate for sliding a bench under the bar for bench press workouts. I’m happy to say I’m impressed with everything about this machine. When it arrived, I received three heavy boxes. After unpacking and organizing all the parts, I realized I was missing over a dozen essential pieces needed for assembly. Naturally, I panicked and emailed the company, worried I might have been shorted on my nearly $650 purchase. It turned out they had forgotten to include my phone number for the FedEx shipment, and the fourth tracking number was sent to me through an automated message from FedEx. It was a stressful moment, but everything worked out fine in the end. Keep in mind, if you buy this machine, you should expect to receive four heavy boxes. I was only missing a few washers, which wasn’t a big deal. Once you unfold the machine, insert the pins, and attach the stabilizer bar at the top, it’s quite impressive. I added a 2x10 to the wall to push the machine out by 1.5 inches for more comfort while doing bench presses with the included removable bar. At 5'11", I have plenty of room. Surprisingly, the removable bar is solid once you tighten both ends. Overall, I’m really impressed with this machine. It feels sturdy and durable, though only time will tell how well it holds up.
