  • Looks intimidating, but install isn't that difficult
The screen on my Pixel 6 Pro "spontaneously" cracked without having been dropped or otherwise damaged. After paying over $200 for a screen replacement, I looked into some screen protectors that could possibly prevent this from happening in the future. I decided on the Whitestone Dome after seeing the positive reviews. I received it, but put off installing it for 2 weeks because I thought I needed to set aside a few hours based on all the parts it came with! A quick search on Youtube led me to an installation video and the process isn't that difficult. That being said, I'm glad they provided extra parts and glue because I botched the first attempt by trying to install on a surface that wasn't level (duh!). The second attempt was much smoother. There are a few tiny air bubbles, but it's nothing major. Not sure if that was my fault or not. I will say while using, you can't even tell the protector is there and my fingerprint reader is actually more accurate now. ... show more

  • Didn't hold up
I purchased this in November, and the bottom corners have microfractures in them already, and the center of the phone has a chip in the glass. I'm not sure how this happened, but it's pretty frustrating for something so expensive on my Pixel 6 Pro. The instructions weren't clear, but I was able to find a YouTube video with a better set of instructions. Once I did this, the install was easy. I'm just really disappointed in the chips and fractures after only 2 months of use when the price was so expensive. I'd love a replacement, but I don't know if I trust it yet. ... show more

  • 8 Step Installation must be FLAWLESS or you court disaster
Awful, overcomplicated mess. Sorry, my experience was a double failure despite all precautions. BTW: I installed my own ceiling fan today, and like to think I am handy. I was NOT happy with my first installation-- too little glue, never ran down the full screen. Ended up with splotches at the bottom. Updated to 3 stars because it worked the THIRD time Second attempt was twice as careful, with an entire EXTRA glue bottle (you have to unscrew BOTH ends and then MAKE SURE the glue puddle stays completely central. It did not, seemed much more runny the second time). Then you have to just pray enough glue stays between screen and protector when you lower the protector and wait 100 seconds. There is a much better video by a guy who keeps repeating the product name and asks "am I right, Guys?" Second time around with TWICE the glue, most ran off before I could center it and adhere the screen. I thought I had coverage holding it straight up and forcing some of the glue down, but that only produced a splotch on the top where there was inadequate glue, AND a misalignment that could not be corrected, so my camera is more exposed than I'd want. Is this REALLY the best protector? USE at least half of the glue they send, i.e. 1.5 tubes. Third time after much anxiety and the use of my level and quick changes of tilt, seems to have covered. Cure with UV ASAP after all glue reaches edges. Runny as heck too, if the glue slides to the side. I had great glass for my Pixel 3A but not all this insanity, with major cleanup of glue afterward. Maybe I would get it right the 3rd time, if I watched the unreadable video 3 more times. (Okay 3 was a charm). The Jabber Tech intro is better but he seems to have done this quite a few times. People like it for the accurate finger print reader, which is now on the screen, but as often now I have to punch in the pin. That derived from the failures. If you crack it, beware of glass shards. Make sure it has slid into place before you do either the 15 UV clearing. Best of luck, or better luck than I had! If the fina one goes on well the reiew will improve. but ugh, what a royal pain. ... show more

  • Would be perfect, IF ONLY they provided more glue in each tube.
I love the clarity and durability of this product. Although they give you 2 glasses and 3 tubes of glue per package, I wish they provided just a tiny bit more glue in each tube. On the first glass application (late 2021), everything looked perfect, except in 2 opposite corners of the glass; when the display was completely dark/off, I could see very faint "spider webbing" underneath the glass in 2 opposite corners. After long investigation I determined that the spider webs were actually tiny areas where the glue did not completely spread. Once the UV light cures the glue, these spider webs are locked-in and permanent. I think adding a tiny bit of additional glue during the installation process could solve this problem. Although they provide a 3rd bottle of glue in the package (in case you fail at an installation attempt), an entire additional bottle is too much to add to an otherwise successful installation. Although the coverage area of the glass is good, recently I still somehow managed to crack my display. The crack originated on the very corner of the display where the tempered glass does not cover. I had my display replaced, and installed the 2nd tempered glass today. Wanting to avoid the previously experienced "spider web" voids of glue, I tried tilting the phone to spread the glue evenly after I dropped the glass on top of it. That did not work, and instead left a portion of the display completely uncovered with glue. If I continued with the install, this would leave an entire section of my display with zero glue connecting it to the tempered glass. I debated completely aborting the installation. To salvage it, I lifted the tempered glass, and added the 3rd (backup) tube of glue onto the display. Obviously the amount of glue was way to high. But after the curing process and wiping up all of the wet glue from the phone's side/back, I notice zero "spider webs" in the corners. (Unfortunately I notice 2 very very tiny bubbles toward the center, that may have snuck in during the mayhem; not bad considering I had to salvage this 2nd glass/installation.) In short, I believe providing a little bit more glue in each tube would've given me a perfect installation the first time in 2021. And that would cause me to provide a full 5-star rating. ... show more
