  • Works well and easy to use
This light is designed well and can be used in many ways. It doesn't need to attach to your laptop, so it can provide anywhere you need it. I was pleasantly surprised by the value of this product.

  • Gadget girl here, "I LOVE IT!!!!!"
I use zoom a lot for business and casual calls. Where I live it's hard to avoid being backlit, which makes me look washed out. This light is perfect! For me, I like the warm lighting and I especially like that it can be turned up brighter or dimmed according to the need. I tested it this afternoon sitting with my back to the picture window which faces west. Tree leaves filter sun and shade and are a pretty backdrop, and the new warm light lit my face very well and balanced the bright background. The tripod is easy to use, and I like that it's portable - right, left, or directly centered. It holds the light securely and is stable, even on my lap desk. I liked the desktop option as well... the "transformer" style stand is what really thrills my gadgetometer! It took a moment to figure out the pictures of how to hook it on the screen, but once I had the general idea and got it in my hands it was a snap to set. The thin screen of the MacBook Air held it fine. Now I wasn't on a long call, just a test run of "How will this work?" but I already know that this is going to be one of my favorite things and will be within reach at home and travel with me when I'm out and about. Super lightweight and as compact as some of my power banks. The velvet bag just is the icing on the cake. Any bag would be fine, but velvet? Oh yeah. I thought that it needed charging because it didn't turn on when I pressed the power button even though blue lights indicated it had power. The one time I didn't read the instructions first... Long press turns it on! What a great safety feature, especially if you're going to tote it around in your bag or backpack. If it was easy to accidentally turn it on with a light press, it might not have enough battery left when I get where I'm going and am ready to use it. This is one of the coolest, most useful things I needed but didn't know existed ~ so glad to find it. It will get a lot of use! I'll say it again, I LOVE this little light! ... show more

  • Very handy video light, webcam attachment is iffy
I already have a collection of video lights that I can use to light subjects for both still and video shoots. What attracted me to order this one is its ability to hang on my laptop's screen. I attend a lot of video conferences and I hate it when I do not appear well lit on the screen. Usually, if several people are on a Zoom or FaceTime call, at least one or two will be obscured by shadows or dim room lighting. I don't want to be one of them. This light is designed to hang on the screen of a laptop or a desktop monitor. It works, but I am not in love with how it fits on my MacBook Air. It hangs in place, but it is somewhat loose. Adjusting the screen to a different angle causes the light to wobble unsteadily. This might be caused by the MacBook Air's extremely thin screen. It would probably be more solid on a thicker laptop or a desktop monitor. This doesn't mean the light fails to remain in place when hung on the screen. It simply isn't as secure as I expected. If I pick up the Air with the light on the screen, it has a tendency to slide to the left or right. It can even fall off when trying to shift the screen so my face is centered on the screen. The seller notes that other lights that clip firmly to a laptop can cause damage to the screen. By hanging the light loosely they claim there is less chance the light can cause damage. In any case, the light stays in place unless you start fiddling with the screen. I have another issue with hanging a light on the screen. The light is aimed directly at your face. This makes your face look flat and projects light into your eyes. I found if I use the light at minimum power, I appear well-lit and I can see whatever is on the screen. At higher power, I am quite literally "blinded by the light" and have difficulty reading the screen. Fortunately, this light is designed to eliminate this problem. The same mechanism that allows it to hang on your screen can be configured to be a desktop stand. Obviously used in this manner the light will be coming from a lower angle, but it can be moved so your face isn't washed out and you are not staring into the light the way you would if it was hanging on your laptop's screen. In addition, the light has a standard 1/4-20 socket on the bottom. You can use this to attach it to a light stand or tripod and aim the light wherever you want. My light also came with a small telescoping desktop stand (about 2 feet tall) that the light can be attached to. You can use this stand to maneuver the light so your face and background look pleasing. While hanging the light on a screen is quick and easy, I will probably use the desktop stand most often because I think it provides the best quality image, Otherwise, this is a very good product. It is made of plastic but seems solidly built. I especially like the simple, easy-to-use controls. I have some other video lights that I have to read the owner's manual whenever I want to use them. The controls are complicated and non-intuitive. The controls on this light are straightforward and easy to understand. One final thought. The built-in battery makes this compact and easy to carry in a pocket or camera bag. But the downside is if the battery runs down, you have to charge the light before it can be used again. I have a bulkier light that uses rechargeable batteries. If the battery goes flat, I can swap in a fresh cell and keep working. With this light, you must charge it (with a USB-C cable) to use it again. This isn't a flaw, replaceable batteries would probably make the light heavier and more complicated. The maker claims 24 hours of battery life at minimum brightness and 3 hours at maximum brightness. I have never had a video conference last more than three hours, so even at the maximum setting I don't anticipate running out of juice. I debated taking off a star because the light fits so loosely to my laptop's screen. But it does work as advertised and the light can be positioned to provide excellent lighting. So I am giving it the full five stars. ... show more

  • Game Changer For Meetings And Photos!
I work in gaming and I am constantly on zoom and/or other online conference meetings. Up until recently, I was using a ring light and a selfie light clipped onto my computer in order to obtain enough and well balanced light so I didn't look like it was too hard to see me. And then my ring light broke and wouldn't stand and it just became increasingly more aggravating to get good light! I saw this webcam light and thought I'd give it a try to see if it made any difference. And BOY did it! This webcam light is a total GAME changer (pun intended). It has three different light diffusing settings, so you can really decide which light is best for your meetings. In addition to that, each setting has both several higher and lower light levels,, giving this little light multiple different ways to give you the best light required for your set up. Another thing I absolutely love about this is how compact it is. My ring light took up a ton of space on my desk, while this thing can either be clipped right to the computer (there's a sort of kickstand instead of a clip already attached to the light, which doesn't block the camera on the computer and stays leveled the whole time). Additionally, there is a small stand that also comes with it, so if you want a different or more off-center light, then this would be a good option for you. Overall, with all the different settings and possibly configurations, not to mention the light itself is FLAWLESS, this is a slam dunk! There are absolutely zero cons to this webcam light! I can't recommend it enough. 10/10 in my opinion!! ... show more
