This is good coffee but it seems to be lacking in the depth and flavor category. It has a good degree of bitterness that I temper by adding a small amount of light roast bean to the grind. But still... the lack of interesting complexity leaves me wanting more. It's 4 stars.... and just barely 4.... I just cannot go to 3. Make it 3.5 stars. I do not recommend this coffee..... there are better ones for sure. ... show more

First, the package is awesome. Beans come very fresh and the roast on them is on point. Grinding them is easy enough and you the aroma is already very good. The result is a coffee with very nice flavors, well balanced, not very acid. That shows how good quality these beans are. They’re indeed medium roast. You can see and taste that very easily. QUICK LOOK: Our household consumes a LOT of coffee. This ends up ranging from high-end grounds down to some of the basic grocery store bought brands. I have to say these grounds overall surprised me with its smoothness. I was a little put off by the branding which came off to me more like an energy drink direction than coffee, but I get trying to stand out from the crowd. This is a good amount of coffee for the pricepoint you are paying for. We ended up using all 2pds on our last camping trip of the season and everyone at the site enjoyed the grounds very much. It has a nice kick and is great as a morning wake up coffee. More granular details below: THE GOOD STUFF: - You get a lot for the price - Coffee was fresh and smelled great opening it up - Smooth flavor profile (but a little bit on the acidy side and needed some extra brewing time / ratio to get the full richness of the coffee) - Worked with standard filters as well as french press and pour over THE NOT SO GOOD STUFF: - A little bit on the acidic side - if you love this this may be a great choice for you - Needed to brew with a bit more grounds than I normally use with other brands to get the coffee strength that is ideal ... show more

I utterly enjoyed this coffee...and I was skeptical...I have to say...I was said to see the bottom of the bag! I wish I could buy a 5lb bag somehow!
