Not sure if they are true genuine makita batteries or just a really good clone labeled as a makita. there are a few subtle differences between these and ones that I know are real, for example the batteries I received are a little more shiny and say made in Korea, all the batteries I've seen or other people have gotten at box stores say made in Singapore, the Korean made one has a slightly different shell and the serial number is printed vs being molded into the plastic. I am not apposed to using knockoffs but don't market and label as something if it isn't legit. I might be wrong but it just seems odd to me. I will update this when I use them more ... show more

I'm always skeptical with batteries as knock-offs are abundant. These appear to be as advertised, they charge in the 45m(ish) timeframe suggested, and seem to be high quality. The price point was markedly better than any 2-packs I could find (I purchased two) so it was a no-brainer. I had expected the batteries to arrive in original packaging from Makita, however they did not. They were in a very thin/cheap plastic bag that looked like it was sealed with a kitchen quality bag sealer. That being said.. oh well. I purchased this battery to replace a couple of knock offs I'd purchased from Amazon a couple years ago. Neither of them held a charge under use nearly as long as this one. Both of them shorted out and were cheap, you get what you pay for. I have not rated this battery's durability since I have not owned it long enough, but thus far I am very pleased with the product. ... show more

I have only just received this battery. It’s very reasonably priced, and appears to be a bulk packaged original Makita battery. It seems to be new and identical in design to my other made in Singapore Makita (2.0 Ah) battery. It came with 1 bar on the led charge indicator, and charged rapidly in my RC charger. How it performs in the long run I don’t know. But so far it’s a thumbs up! ... show more

I bought this battery and I bought the same battery from Home Depot. Weighed both battery's and both weighed the same to the Gram. I was worried it was a knock off and had less batter inside. Great price! thx Key West Capt. Bill
