I initially purchased this to charge 18650 batteries for some vapes. I hear it is much safer to charge rechargeable batteries outside of most devices. The charger is fast and has the option of being faster by switching from 500 mA to 1000 mA. This is a per bay setting. Each charging bay is independent, and you do not need to charge in pairs. It is super cool. You can even charge different battery sizes at the same time as each bay is independent. I am glad I purchased this and am now going to expand my rechargeable battery collection. I maintain about 100 18650 batteries in an outdoor, solar powered environment. I have tried a number of these chargers and they are cheap, thin plastic and mediocre displays. Power source is usually 5vdc from a usb adapter. This unit is completely different than I expected. High quality box, good springs and metal. Built for table top with no wall mounts. All power is managed internally while accepting both 110vac and 12vdc on a cig plug. 110 is on a standard input cable. The display is very clear and the viewing angle is perfect. The media could not be loaded. This charger, powered by an AC plug, is an almost perfect product. It has four spring-loaded battery holders that allow various rechargeable batteries to be loaded and charged. The attached photo shows four 18650 rechargeable cells where charging has finished. The display above each cell cycles through, showing how long the batteries have been charging, how many milli-amps are drawn by the battery, and the voltage the battery has been charged to. A small button beneath each display allows the charge rate to be switched between 500 and 1000 mA. When a battery draws 0.00 mA, it is fully charged; I was looking for a fast charger because my application can discharge them rapidly. This charger easily beats the chargers that use a USB connector to provide power. This charger is "almost perfect" because once charged, the charging stops, and the batteries begin to discharge in place. That means if I put the batteries in to charge when I go to bed, in the morning, I will find charged batteries that have since discharged a little. That is truly annoying because they can take hours to charge and this feature makes me a slave to the charger. I need to be there when they finish charging to remove them before they start losing charge. Another feature that surprised me is that when the batteries are fully charged, according to this charger, my other charger continues to charge them for around 15 minutes! The short video shows me removing batteries that have just finished charging, and I remove and put them in another charger, whose orange light indicates that they need more charge. Experiments show that the second charger charges for, on average, 15 minutes after this charger thinks the batteries are fully charged. It may be good for the batteries to avoid overcharging them.; I don't know. It is a minor issue.
