    • We had a successful hatch!

This is our first incubating experience but we are so glad we chose this one because it made everything so easy and transparent. Settings and preferences are so easy to customize and change as needed (temperature). The auto rotating feature is great so you don't have to worry about opening the incubator more frequently than needed. The built in candling light is a nice option to have but we found that a super bright flash light was a little more successful to actually see what was going on. I think if you were in a very dark room the built in light might work better, but we were incubating darker eggs (brown, green, blue) and either the color or thickness of shell made it difficult to see much when candling. This was super easy to set up and get going. There was minimal assembly required and truly took less than five minutes. Any complaint of having to set gears, etc seems to be someone that just wanted something plug and go - this really couldn't be much easier than it is. We had a successful hatch! Our temperature remained consistent with no effort on our behalf. The humidity was a bit wonky - we started from day one with both bottles filled in order to maintain around 45-50% and then during lockdown we actually put a new dish sponge inside the incubator. We positioned it right under neath one of the holes in the clear part and we were able to use a dropper to drip warm water in to rehydrate it and keep humidity closer to 60% during hatching. This did require a bit of extra effort that I am not sure was entirely necessary but it did give us peace of mind to be able to raise the humidity higher than the incubator seemed to be able to. ... show more

If you are new to incubating eggs, this is a good one to start with. This incubator will work for a first timer up to a pro (as long as you don't need more egg space). Setup is very simple, and the instructions are clear and concise. You'll have this up and going in minutes. This particular incubator is the marriage of the reliability of the old school incubators with today's technology. The design keeps the humidity and heat very well in a circular shape that allows you to have your eggs in a smaller space than the older square models. This thing functions without any issues and even keeps pretty quiet when it turns the eggs. No loud motors or fans. And the addition of the external egg candler is a nice bonus. As I mentioned, the circular design takes minimal space, but if you needed to move it, the compact size comes in handy and makes the move easier. Cleaning is not hard but does take some detail work. But the components are plastic which makes it pretty easy to clean without worrying about damage. My older version was foam, and THAT was hard to clean. The price is a bit high in some respects, but it comes down to how little you want to work. This has the water bottle setup so that you aren't having to monitor humidity constantly, has digital readouts for temperature and other data, and realistically does the same job as the $80 square ones. It just FEELS like it's less product for the dollar, but in reality, this is the shape, not the quantity capacity or the quality. If anything, this is a much more modern and thought-out product.
