  • Long, detailed review after the first hatch
The media could not be loaded. First of all, this incubator is great for a simple, auto-turning machine. It's not a state of the art professional one, but it's not like it claims to be one. It was easy to use, and I had a successful hatch. Here are the details: It was very easy to set up, and the instructions were easy to follow. Do not throw away the styrophoam because it's meant as optional insulation. Set up the first round of my own 18 barnyard mix eggs. Temperature stayed consistent (I didn't go crazy with secondary thermometers - just went with what the machine said). Humidity took a little playing around with - between closing off or opening the vent and the 2nd bottle slot, and having a fan blow by to decrease humidity on more humid days. The incubator auto-regulates the temperature, but not the humidity, so you just have to go into it with a realistic expectation. The candler is not great because it does not seal against the egg well, and let's a lot of light leak around it, so I used a candler I purchased earlier. I candled the eggs on day 7, and they were all viable. So far so good. On day 9, the incubator started beeping and flashing on and off. By trying to plug it onto some other ill-fitting adapters that I had lying aroind, I figured out that the problem was most likely the power supply cord, and not the incubator itself. At that point it was too late to save the eggs, and I didn't have a power supply that would in fact work appropriately. I emailed the company about the adapter, and they literally responded within 2 hours, even though it was late at night. They said that they narrowed down the problem to a small batch of defective adapters, and they they could either refund me, or send me a replacement adapter. I opted for replacement adapter, and got a shipping notification the next morning. While waiting for USPS to deliver it via snail mail, I ordered a different compatible adapter through prime, figuring the replacement was could then be a back up. Once I received the compatible adapter, I started another batch of 18 eggs, and the incubator was working like nothing happened. The weather got very humid tho, so I moved the incubator to the bedroom where I could keep the ambient humidity down with the air conditioner. If you unplug the incubator and plug it back in, it just picks up right where it left off in the day count, but starts the 2 hour egg turning cycle over, so in the future I waited until it was almost time to turn again before I would unplug it and plug it back in, so as not to turn the eggs excessively. Since it was chilly in the bedroom (64-70F), I put the styrophoam insulator around the incubator to help keep the temperature consistent. The incubator lived in the bedroom until day 18. Btw, day 7 candling showed all 18 eggs viable, and day 14 candling showed 17 viable eggs and one death ring that I estimate stopped developing around day 10. On day 18, the egg turner stopped like it was supposed to, and I opened the lid just long enough to remove the egg turner. Since the humidity level needs to be significantly higher in the last 4 days, I moved the incubator back downstairs where there's no AC, took off the insulation, and just watched the humidity as before. It said to attach both water bottles with water, but I found that with the weather it was too high, so I played around with one bottle, no bottle, and fan blow-by as needed. On day 20 the eggs started hatching one by one. After about 8 hatched, it became a little crowded, so I quickly pulled out the empty shells. Didn't seem to bother anything, especially since it was so humid. By day 21, 13 chicks hatched - 12 healthy and 1 with a fatal defect. I moved the babies to the brooder as soon as they were all dry and fluffy. I left the remaining 4 eggs in the incubator for a other 24 hours, then candled them for any movement (there was none) and then removed them. The incubator was easy to take apart and clean, and it is now set up with 3 more viable eggs that spent their first 10 days under a hen. The incubator has an option to set number of days til hatch, so I put it down to 12, and it will stop turning on day 9, which will be 4 days before hatch. I would definitely buy this incubator again and would recommend it to someone who is a hobby chicken farmer. Nothing too fancy, but certainly gets the job done with not too much fuss. ... show more

  • If you want to use more than once, don't use this one!
Bought this incubator to hatch out some baby chickens. Worked great for the first hatching like it should up till the very end. I had a couple of eggs that had not hatch on day 22 so I planned to leave them in there a couple of extra days. Went to check on them the morning of day 23, the incubator screen was blank, nothing was working and it was beeping and flashing the candling light. Unplugging and replugging did nothing and now I'm left with a broken incubator that cannot be fixed or returned. Research other brands, I do not recommend this one! ... show more

  • Amazing Little Incubator – Perfect for Beginners and Backyard Hobbyists!
I was a little nervous trying out an incubator for the first time, but this one exceeded my expectations! Right out of the box, it was easy to set up. The instructions were simple to follow, and I appreciated the clear digital display—it shows the temperature and humidity levels, which helped me feel more in control throughout the process. The automatic egg turner is a game changer! It turned the eggs consistently and gently, and I didn’t have to worry about forgetting. I set 12 chicken eggs, and 10 successfully hatched—an awesome result for a beginner! What I really liked: • Super quiet operation • Easy to clean • Transparent lid so my kids could watch the eggs hatch • Great size for a small backyard flock Just make sure to place it in a room without big temperature swings, and check the water reservoir daily to keep humidity levels stable. Overall, this incubator is well worth the money and has made hatching eggs a fun and successful experience for my family. Highly recommend this if you’re just getting into hatching or want something reliable without breaking the bank. ... show more

  • Temperature Inaccurate and Unit Failed After Two Uses
The media could not be loaded. I purchased this incubator in September and have only used it twice. During my first hatch, I noticed the temperature was not consistent. The heater on top was set to 100.0°F, but the internal temperature consistently stayed around 97°F. I monitored temperature and humidity using multiple independent thermometers/hygrometers. Humidity readings were accurate, but the temperature discrepancy remained. The room temperature was always maintained at 72°F or higher, so ambient conditions were not the issue. I started a second hatch on January 9 and experienced the same temperature inconsistency. Then today, the unit began beeping and completely stopped working. Thankfully, I had another incubator running and was able to transfer the eggs, otherwise this would have resulted in a total loss. I am very disappointed. This incubator failed after fewer than two full uses, and inconsistent temperature is a critical flaw for incubation. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this product. I am requesting compensation in the form of a refund or replacement, as this unit did not perform as advertised and failed prematurely. ... show more
