  • Death Trap for Chicks - Doesn't hold temperature and humidity
Color: Deep Blue+Yellow
I have been hatching eggs for awhile. I have gone through at least four of these inexpensive-type incubators (I keep telling myself I will only hatch one more batch and then don't - so maybe it is time for an more industrial one). All that aside, this is the worse incubator I've encountered so far - or at least on par with another terrible one. The good: The design is interesting with a handle to lift the top. The temperature and humidity are very clearly indicated. The neutral: There are instructions for using it on the top control panel - fantastic! However it looks identical to the buttons and so you can spend a lot of time pressing on the instructions with nothing happening. It came with two egg trays - one for 18 chicken eggs and one for quail or pigeon eggs. None for duck or goose eggs, which is odd since this thing is huge. The control panel is simple. Not a lot of info and stuff going on. I prefer it (more reliable electronics) but others might want to know when the next turning will be and have all of the stats up all at once such as temperature, humidity, number of days, etc. The bad: This thing doesn't really warm and can't keep the humidity to the necessary level. I have it set for duck eggs (just don't use all of the chicken egg places - especially not the inside six) and set it to 99.5 degrees Fahrenheit and 55% humidity. Yet even after three days it only goes up to about 80 degrees Fahrenheit and 90% humidity. Opening and closing the vent doesn't affect it. Changing the temperature and humidity even to chicken standards doesn't affect anything. And my home is at 75-77 degrees Fahrenheit, which makes the lack of getting up to temperature even more unimpressive. It is very difficult to get the top back on all the way. You have to get the part that connects with the tray that causes turning to align perfectly. The plastic parts are a bit flimsy all around compared to other incubators I've used. I also don't understand why the two bottom trays stack as they do. It makes it so the eggs will try to roll out once they are not on the turner trays since the trays are above the lip of the machine. Since this thing is so large, why not make the lip just a bit taller so you don't loose eggs while grabbing dry chicks out during hatching days? I will be returning this. I'm not sure if I lost the eggs put in there already. If I kept them in for the 35-ish day cycle I already know what is happening - the high humidity is causing the inner membrane to become thick and the ducklings will be trapped inside the eggs on hatch day. Yea, you can help them out but half won't survive that and it is heartbreaking. I experienced this with another low-quality machine. This seemed like a great price, but it isn't worth it. As the hatching cycle is longer than the return window, my recommendation is to get a nicer machine. I haven't found a perfect one, but there are definitely better ones. It is worth paying a bit more and getting a better machine than this. ... show more

  • Easy to Use
Color: Deep Blue+Yellow
This incubator is easy to use with its digital temperature and humidity controls, plus a clear display and helpful alarm system. The automatic egg turning and external water bottles keep conditions stable without constant monitoring. I love the 360° clear lid—it’s fun and educational to watch the entire process. The adjustable trays are adjustable and hold up to 18 eggs. ... show more

  • I'd give a zero if I could
Color: Deep Blue+Yellow
Did not work. A tech gal came to help set it up. The thing beeped for over 8 hours. Would not hold temp and humidity only got to 15. Properly hooked up, followed directions. THEN I noticed the box on the cord was VERY HOT around 4 hours or so. Before bed I found it still very hot and so I unpluged it. Checked it at 15 humidty. Came back about an hour later. It had humity in the bottom half of the cover and totally dry in the top half. CS for Amazon said to send it back, do not plug it back in as a possible fire hazzard. VERY disapointed. Spend hours reading up on and finally picking this unit. Then spent more hours researching other models a second time ... show more

  • Quail don't fit
Color: Deep Blue+Yellow
The turntables on this do NOT fit quail eggs...they get stuck and/or crushed...the small turntable is sized for pigeon, too big for quail... very disappointed

  • Great product
Color: Deep Blue+Yellow
Cool product, the outer shielding is a little flimsy compared to other models I have like it, the alarm went off constantly during the setup but overall I'm more than happy with the product and would recommend

  • Temp way off
Color: Deep Blue+Yellow
Returning it. It was very easy to set up ,but after 2 days of running the temp does not stay steady. I really wanted to use this for turkey eggs but it won't work because of the irregular temp spikes and drops.

  • Doesn't turn the eggs, humidity inconsistent
Color: Deep Blue+Yellow
I checked reviews before I purchased. Most if not all were from vine customers and all 5 stars. I am having trouble keeping the humidity at the correct level, and I am manually turning, it rotates as it should but the eggs do NOT turn. Temp seems to be pretty well maintained, but I just ordered a seperate humidity and temp reader to put in the incubator to see how accurate it really is. Only on day 2, I will hold further judgment until when/if the eggs hatch. ... show more
