This faux fireplace heater is a nice addition to any room where you need a little extra heat and enjoy the look and ambiance of faux flame. The heat will only accommodate a small room so keep that in mind. There are two options: flame with heat, flame without heat. The heat emits from the top, not from the front. You do not want to plug this into an extension cord or in an outlet that is connected to other electricity pulling appliances such as a microwave or the like as it can flip a breaker when running the unit with the heat element on. In my pic, I have this faux fireplace showcased (without heat) in my actual non-functioning fireplace. I didn’t plan on putting it in there but I actually love the way it turned out…at least until I get ours in working order. This heater is great for small spaces and may be what your looking for in those unexpected places as well! I highly recommend!

There is some assembly with this unit for attaching the feet and then putting in the acrylic "rocks", if you choose to use them. The orange rocks were cheap looking to me and we left them out. There are no heat controls on this unit...it is either on or off. The heat vents run along the top of the unit and are sufficient to heat up a small to average size enclosed room. My husband uses this in his office and does seem to enjoy the ambiance of the "flames". There are two on/off switches on the back for the visual and for the heat. There is no remote. It is bulky and weighty and has no handle or place for your hand to easily pick it up to carry. If you have a dedicated place to place this and leave it there, then this absent feature should not bother you too much. It is a bit expensive for what it is, but it is also different with more visual appeal than most space heaters, so it is personal preference as to whether you are getting what you want for what you are paying.

I have multiple fireplace style heaters I use in my home. Mainly because I got one then everyone wanted one for their room or favorite space in the house. This one is the easiest one I have ever set-up. 2 screws for the legs and 2 screws to add the acrylic stones which simulate the coals. This is 1500w heater, but the fire feature can be turned on for ambiance without the heat. For me, positives include, I like the look of the fire feature, the acrylic stones are like the coals in a woodstove and it reminds me of when I have a good coal base in my real one. The power cord is beefy and seems well insulated, so that heating up should not be a problem. The unit is fairly quiet. The heat comes from the top, mixed feelings about that because I see this as more of a unit that would be placed on a table top or some type furniture, so I think I'd want it blowing forward not straight up. A negative is there's no handle or grip of any sort, so you can only pick it up from the bottom. One comment on the stones shifting when you move it, it's like sand art. Shake it a little to get them to spread out. There's no reason you should need to remove the glass after the initial assembly. My final negative is the case from the side is nothing but the metal box with all of the assembly screws visible.
