When my 40-year-old house was built, the bottom of the floor joists above my basement were just 89" above the floor - not much headroom. When I bought the house 25 years ago, I finished three rooms in the basement. I installed dropped ceilings as close to the joists as possible to maximize the headroom, while still allowing me to install the thinnest T8 fluorescent light fixtures I could find. In fact, I had to modify the fixtures to fit them in the tight space. Of course bulbs burned out from time to time and were a pain to replace. Worse, the ballasts didn’t last. So, ten years later I replaced the T8 fixtures with T5 versions. Again, my selection of fixtures was limited and they had to be modified to fit the space. When they worked, they were fine, but bulbs still burned out and ballasts still had to be replaced occasionally. What a pain! These thin LED panels are a godsend! They easily fit into the narrow space. I had to work in tight quarters to wire them, but it wasn’t as difficult as wiring the fluorescents. I wired them to a Lutron Diva dimmer switch and they work perfectly. My wife is especially happy that they’re dimmable and that, at maximum intensity, they put out much more light than flourescents. Those factors please me, too, of course, but mostly I’m happy that they should last much, much longer without maintenance. The instructions that come with these lights are poor, but there are plenty of YouTube videos that demonstrate wiring similar LED panel lights with and without dimmers. It isn’t difficult, but if you’re not comfortable with electrical work or aren’t familiar with the code requirements, by all means hire a licensed electrician. Renovating a space in my home to be more of a studio / Reptile room and these worked perfectly. They fit into my preexisting 24 x 24 inch drop ceiling without any issues. I do recommend adding an extra run of tie down on at least 2 sides of each panel as they are a bit heavier than the tiles themselves. Wiring is basic. Connected to a dimmer switch and they do dim down really well. No noticeable flicker even with recording. Compared to many of the other options available these are super affordable and easy to install. They would be great in any office or remodeling situation where you have drop ceiling already installed or plan on using drop ceiling as they give a clean and professional look... ... show more

I’ve only been able to confirm they work. Couldn’t install them. Because I need the framing, that doesn’t come with them. It’s great, they are a two pack. It’s the exact size you need to take the space of a full panel, in a drop ceiling. But, I got them to use one in a bathroom, and one in a hallway/stairway. I didn’t realize they didn’t come with the flush mount bracket. So, if you were thinking about getting these, for flush mount purposes, now you know you will need a frame set for each light. Could easily make one out of wood. Using a router bit to make a channel for the light to slide into. But, wood is a bit more weight, than aluminum. And, usually a bad idea for something going over peoples heads. These came with pretty straight forward instructions. And, were packed well. My box was damaged. But, everything was perfectly fine inside! ... show more

I like these lights. Even illumination across the 2x2 feet. Light weight as I expected. Get out your 3X reading glasses for the instructions (5x8 inches with small font size). Unfortunately the location of the LED power driver and how you hook up the wires do not match the product I received. Fortunately there were labels on the LED driver showing the wire hookup needed (see pics). I got these lights, not for the ceiling but to use as light for my photography. They are 5500K lights (daylight). See pic for the temporary setup I used to check out the lights. I will build 2x2 foot wood cases to contain the lights and mount them on stands. ... show more

These 2' x 2' panels are a game changer in drop grid ceilings. I wish they had these about 5 years ago when I upgraded all the old T12 flourescents to T8 electronic ballast flourescents. These LED panels are a fraction of the weight of the old troffer flourescents. They are brighter, consume much less electricity, and can even be dimmed. They connect easily to flex and simply drop into the grid system. They need minimal support wires where the grid supports them. And the cost is not much more than the old heavy troffers. These are fantastic! Easy to install and very bright - lights up my workshop amazingly. I even easily moved to a different spot after the first install to allow the light to go right over where I work on projects. These are well-made and I would expect these to last a very long time.

These drop in ceiling lights look and work great. Installation could not be any easier, drop it in place, and wire it up. They have a nice warm white light and really add a touch of class to any room when installed.

We installed these in the restrooms at my business. They were very easy to install. On fact much easier than other brands that I uave used. Just 3 wires and good to go. 5 if you want to use the dimmer option which I didn't. They are very bright and light up the room very well. Would highly recommend
