I was looking for another dehumidifier for the house. Something for rooms vs the whole floor like I have currently in the basement. I wanted something for a bedroom and an office. Looking around at different ones, I found this one. It had the features and more that I was looking for. When I received package, I was surprised to see the size of the dehumidifier. It is very small. Not like what I saw in the ads. I was skeptical at first based on the size but gave it a shot and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked. I used it in the dehumid mode and it was very quiet even with fan set to high. Let it run with the door closed and it cooled the room pretty well. Checked the well and it collected a good amount in small time frame. After some use, here are the pros and cons Pros - - Size. Small to bring to different rooms. Can put away in closet as it takes up little space and short - Noise - really lack of noise. Even with fan set to high, it was quiet. - Timer - can set to let it run how long you want. - Auto shut off - when it reaches desired temp, it shuts off -Fan - 2 settings, low and high Cons - - Control panel - had to touch a couple of times to make sure it was set. I felt the response was a little slow. - Well - no clear indicator or way to see how much collected without removing. The dehumidifier has some other features I have not used or attempted but what they offer was part of reason I purchased. -easy access to filter to clean -different modes to set. Plan to use dry mode soon for laundry -drainage hose - redirect collection to a bucket Packaging Note, when you get the package from Amazon, box will be big but the actual box containing dehumidifier is small. The package came with just the dehumidifier, manual, and external hose.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I picked up the Glowells 21-Pint Dehumidifier. On paper, it had everything I needed: compact size, smart humidity control, drain hose, and quiet operation. But it is pretty compact, so I was cautiously optimistic. Here’s how it’s performed in real life: The First Test: Garage Stress Check I set this unit up in my garage where the humidity tends to hover in the high 70s during summer. First reading? 78%. I set the target at 60%, plugged it in, and let it run overnight. Came back the next morning — 60% on the nose. That was the first clue this little guy might punch above its weight. I've been running it for almost a week now and it's keeping up with the fluctuating outdoor humidity and dampness that invades my garage. Hits the Mark on Performance Humidity Control is Spot On: Whether I’m using the adjustable DEHU mode or just flipping it on and letting it run, it consistently hits the target humidity. Quiet Enough for a Bedroom: Seriously — the noise is minimal, even on high. I wouldn’t hesitate to use this in a nursery, office, or bedroom. Drain Hose = Gamechanger: I initially used the bucket and emptied it manually — no issues there. But once I hooked up the drain hose (and angled it correctly), it’s been smooth sailing. This thing can run constantly without attention. Compact and Mobile: It’s surprisingly small, which actually works to my advantage. I can move it between the garage, basement, or a bedroom without needing a second pair of hands or a back brace. Don't let the small size discourage you. This unit is great!

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Why did you pick this product vs others?: I picked this product because it was on sale during prime days. Regular price was $200 but on sale for 40% off. Also, It has sustainability features and the reviews were mostly positive. It’s supposed to dehumidify up to 1600 ft.. I assumed it would be a great way to reduce the humidity in my home quickly and without running the HVAC. However, I don’t know how small a space these folks are dehumidifying, but I ran it for nearly 4 hours and the humidity level never changed. In fact, it went up by one percent. I started at 61%. But It couldn’t keep up with my 300 ft.² living room. I finally had to turn on the HVAC to lower the humidity to 56%. Functionality: Functionality is poor, in my experience. I have to assume it’s defective but I would never pay $200 for this tiny unit - pictures make it appear bigger. It’s more like a table top dehumidifier to use in a very small bathroom. It only holds about one and a half quarts of water although the length of time it would take to fill would be ridiculous. Definitely not 21 pints in 24 hours. The information says that it’s high efficiency so I expected at least my humidity level would be at 40% after four hours according to the information—it was not. I returned it.

I have a dust mite allergy, and my doctor recently recommended getting a dehumidifier to help reduce the humidity in my home. After researching a few options, I decided to give this Glowells dehumidifier a try — even though it's not a well-known brand, the features looked solid for the price. I’ve been using it for about a week now, mainly in the bedroom, and I’m already noticing a difference. I’m sleeping better, and my sneezing has noticeably decreased. What surprised me most is that although it's rated for 1600 sq. ft., it’s been strong enough to handle both my bedroom and most of the living room without any trouble. The digital controls are intuitive, and it’s incredibly quiet — I barely notice it running, which is a big plus during the night. I’m using the built-in tank rather than the drain hose, and the auto shut-off feature when the tank is full works perfectly. It also gives an audible alert, which is helpful. I was skeptical at first about its performance, especially since it's not a big brand, but I’ve been really impressed. This unit is perfect for my needs because I carefully read and understand the tech specs: absolutely 5 stars for the most compact dehumidifier with a compressor I was able to find anywhere. It's tiny, it's quiet, it's powerful. I've had it for a month with no issues. My only complaint is that the reservoir should be larger (you'll need to empty it more than once a day if it's humid), though it does support continuous draining with a hose if you can put it by a drain or a window. So why minus a star? Because the way they advertise this unit is misleading to anyone who doesn't know dehumidifiers. A rating for 1500 sq. ft. is a joke. This is a unit for your bedroom, bathroom, or other area no more than 400 sq. ft. I just can't understand why they don't own this niche. They have literally the best small room offering and could make bank advertising it as such, and instead pretend that it's appropriate for the square footage of a 2 bedroom house. Thus, they both miss out on the customers looking for a unit for small spaces *and* anger the people who buy it for a large space... the worst of both worlds. Anyway, if you understand what you're buying and you're looking to keep the humidity down in a single room or maybe a small 1 bedroom apartment in the city, this is for you. If you actually have 1500 sq. ft. to cover, you'll need at least 3 of these, so you'd probably do better just buying a larger unit.

I got this to use in my bedroom, as I have an attached bathroom that causes some additional humidity due to showering. It appears to work very well, I have it near the bathroom door and I just use it on the one setting that has it kick on whenever the humidity goes above 50%. It turns on when it's supposed to and it's not too loud, though it's typically just running for a couple hours per day at most anyway. I really like that it doesn't take up much space, as it is really compact and fits neatly in the corner. The downside of this is that the bucket that collects water is pretty small, so I have to empty it often. It's better if you can use the included tube to have it drain automatically, but overall I still prefer emptying the tank more often compared to having a higher capacity one taking up additional space.

I bought it because it says good sized for basement. Well, it works great, but the bin that catches the water is so small that I have to empty it twice a day (maybe more but I do it when waking up and when I return from work and it’s totally full by then and turned off so I don’t know if I was home more if it would need to be emptied 3 times a day. The draining is easy, and no leaks. Just wish it were bigger. I know they say the size, but I’m not great at imagining in my mind how bid something is by the words lol.

I’m really happy with this purchase. The product arrived on time and was well packaged. It works exactly as described, and the quality is better than I expected for the price.
