What surprised me most is that although it's rated for 1600 sq. ft., it’s been strong enough to handle both my bedroom and most of the living room without any trouble. The digital controls are intuitive, and it’s incredibly quiet — I barely notice it running, which is a big plus during the night. I’m using the built-in tank rather than the drain hose, and the auto shut-off feature when the tank is full works perfectly. It also gives an audible alert, which is helpful. I was skeptical at first about its performance, especially since it's not a big brand, but I’ve been really impressed. It’s compact, easy to move with the built-in wheels, and the moisture control modes are actually useful. The DEHU mode is my go-to, and I appreciate being able to fine-tune the humidity level.

I got this to use in my bedroom, as I have an attached bathroom that causes some additional humidity due to showering. It appears to work very well, I have it near the bathroom door and I just use it on the one setting that has it kick on whenever the humidity goes above 50%. It turns on when it's supposed to and it's not too loud, though it's typically just running for a couple hours per day at most anyway. I really like that it doesn't take up much space, as it is really compact and fits neatly in the corner. The downside of this is that the bucket that collects water is pretty small, so I have to empty it often. It's better if you can use the included tube to have it drain automatically, but overall I still prefer emptying the tank more often compared to having a higher capacity one taking up additional space.

First of all, this unit is SMALL. I went back and double-checked the posting for it, and I still couldn't find any physical dimensions until I finally clicked though everything clickable, (if I'd been able to find it before--I'd never have bought it) but anyway, the pics make it LOOK like a full-sized unit. When I saw the box after delivery, I was disappointed, but it was even in ANOTHER box with Styrofoam and bubble wrap, so it was smaller still. Compared to my failed standard dehumidifier, I'd call this one a 'miniature unit' But I thought this might have some new technology that might make it as efficient as my older one, so I thought I'd give it a chance----it DID say it'd collect 21 pints in 24 hours, but LOOK CLOSELY!!! That's in 95 degrees at 95% relative humidity; (is your home that hot and humid?) in other words almost a steam room environment. After following the included instructions, I put this in my unfinished, damp half-basement which had around 70% humidity due to my old unit crapping out last week. It didn't deliver any water until after about an hour had passed, even though the fan and compressor were both working the entire time. Even then, the water was so slow, that this thing ran continuously for 5 1/2 hours and put out slightly less than 3/4 cup (my old unit would drip a couple drops a second and would have probably collected a half gallon in the same time period. I put in a considerable amount of time on Amazon, but still can't find it stated that the unit was made in China (which it is). Returned.

This unit is perfect for my needs because I carefully read and understand the tech specs: absolutely 5 stars for the most compact dehumidifier with a compressor I was able to find anywhere. It's tiny, it's quiet, it's powerful. I've had it for a month with no issues. My only complaint is that the reservoir should be larger (you'll need to empty it more than once a day if it's humid), though it does support continuous draining with a hose if you can put it by a drain or a window. So why minus a star? Because the way they advertise this unit is misleading to anyone who doesn't know dehumidifiers. A rating for 1500 sq. ft. is a joke. This is a unit for your bedroom, bathroom, or other area no more than 400 sq. ft. I just can't understand why they don't own this niche. They have literally the best small room offering and could make bank advertising it as such, and instead pretend that it's appropriate for the square footage of a 2 bedroom house. Thus, they both miss out on the customers looking for a unit for small spaces *and* anger the people who buy it for a large space... the worst of both worlds. Anyway, if you understand what you're buying and you're looking to keep the humidity down in a single room or maybe a small 1 bedroom apartment in the city, this is for you. If you actually have 1500 sq. ft. to cover, you'll need at least 3 of these, so you'd probably do better just buying a larger unit.

Works ok but these things never cover the area they claim they do. It is too small for the area I am using it for even though it says it would cover that size area.

I've been using this in a basement bedroom (16x16) and it's managed to keep the room dry and comfortable. I have it set for constant drain, using a 5 gallon bucket behind the stand I keep it on. Quiet, dependable.

I bought this dehumidifier for my garage. Its about a 500 square foot area. I wanted a dehumidifier that could handle larger areas, like 1000 + square feet, in case I needed it in the house too. This little guy is amazing! I’m here to tell you that you DO NOT need a drain nearby. I used a bucket, cut a hole in the lid, ran the hose to the bucket. Simple! It’s been 15 hours since I’ve started the unit up. I’ve collected about 3 inches of water in my bucket. I’m impressed at how this little guys holds up to the extreme humidity in the garage and the amount it has collected in such a short time. If I ever need another dehumidifier, I’ll buy one of these again.
