I had a previous brand purchased elsewhere that I liked very much. However, when I moved was unable to remove the unit. Believe that this unit is better also like that it matches the chrome finish of the shower head as well. This unit is larger overall and has double sided washer that makes it easy to remove, also appreciated that it came with plumbers tape. Most importantly my skin feels better, less dry after I shower. . I live in an area with hard, higher chemical content water.     • A Game Changer

A distinctly noticeable difference in water quality at an affordable price. With some caveats. I don't have overly sensitive skin but I do have some allergies and the water where I live is plenty hard. Sometimes a hot shower can end up an itchy situation. While I would love a robust whole house water filtration system, it isn't practical for my situation at the moment. So I do what I can. I filter my drinking water with a pitcher. I have an individual filter on my bidet. The shower was next up. It made an instant difference that could be very clearly felt! And has continued to be felt each shower since installation. It absolutely, beyond a shadow of a doubt, made a complete difference in the feel of my shower. There were a couple strings attached to this though. The price can't be beat because it is indeed cheap materials. You could easily over tighten the fitting on the shower head end. I work with my hands and DIY plenty and could "feel" and hear the plastic and coating wanting to give as I secured the shower head tight. The top end, the pressure is on the wall pipe you're fitting it to. The filter compartment is thick and robust with a good design (which should make filter replacing a breeze). But where you attach the shower head, all the pressure is on the cheap material of this product. So do not use too much elbow grease. Slow, steady and even tightening until there are no leaks. That's the one objective flaw here that may or may not separate it from the more expensive choices. But, that comes with the territory of getting the cheapest option in a product category. It's all good, just something to be aware of. The other string is subjective. I'm tall. My shower head being another ~4 inches lower just wasn't going to work for me. So I ended up having to buy a "s-shaped shower head riser" pipe too. Which is a more involved install process. And at that point I figured I may as well upgrade my shower head too. So my cheap shower head filter turned in to a pricier full shower makeover. I'm still happy with the money I saved choosing this filter versus the more expensive options on Amazon. But I did end up spending more than I initially planned in total. If you're shorter or your shower is already higher this won't be an issue, but just throwing it out there that you may need to buy more parts if adding a ~4 inch filter to your shower head changes things too much. I'm a happy camper either way! My skin feels completely different now during and after a shower. I'm sure I'll become complacent and "used to" it all over time. Without a doubt a clear difference though. Highly recommend if you have hard water, sensitive skin, allergies, or just want a fresher feeling shower. ... show more

I bought this for my shower. I have platinum blonde hair and our tap water turns it a slight orangey-hue over time. I’ve noticed a decrease of this orange color taking to my hair since using this product. It needs to be replaced over time but I’m happy with the results thus far.

UPDATE...I contacted the company and was able resolve my issue with my order. Easy company to deal with. Very responsive. If you have a problem, reach out to them and they will resolve your issue. During the first shower, it leaked. No matter how much I fiddle farted around with the internal o-rings, I could not stop it from leaking where you screw the two pieces together! Great inline filter for the price , Took 3 mins to install , make sure you use the teflon tape that is included on the threads Filter is made from plastic so be careful not to over tighten to avoid cracking . Water was noticeably softer at first use , we did flush filter for 3 mins before first use Did not affect the water pressure at all . Over all great value for the dollar ... show more

Learn from my mistake. Im rating this more as a 2.5 than a 3. Mainly because I couldn't use it long enough to really get a good read on it. Basically, my water pressure is kinda mid, but it didn't occur to me that putting a filter on my shower would restrict the flow. It lasted 2 days before both me and my teenage son had enough. Not nearly enough time to get a good read on the effects of softer water. So now I have wasted my money and still have hard water. I thought about just using it to wash my hair but I have thick 4c natural hair and I need the pressure to penetrate my kinks to reach the scalp. highly skeptical before ordering. those concerns were eased as I immediately noticed a difference in the water quality output and my skin. my bar soap no longer accumulates soap scum as the filter helps remove hard water inducing particles. not sure on the longevity.. after a year i'd love to open it up and see the results inside ... show more
