I had a hiking stick hidden to use on getting down and back-up an extension of a local mountain trail. Someone stole it. I looked for another. Found one. It cracked and broke on me. So, I needed something that I could carry with me. This fills the bill very well. It is well-made, and sturdy. And heavy. Over 3 pounds. I'm only gonna be using it on hills, so to carry it for a flat trail, you better build up those arms. It is do-able though. Will also come in handy to keep away dogs and other animals if necessary. The compass is accurate. It comes will a rubber tip to put on the bottom. The accessories that come with it, specifically the harpoon and knives aren't sturdy enough to be practical because of the short tangs. But overall, this is a very nice item.

This is a really cool walking stick. Sturdy, assembles quickly, then there is the multi function, each item fastens securely you can use and man or as few link tubes as you'd like.

I purchased this tactical staff because it was on sale, and I have recently become fond of hiking trails. It is perfect, and it makes me feel safe on some of trails that I traverse. The grip can be difficult if your palms are sweaty, but it's not too bad. The stick is a bit heavy, but that it to be expected considering the number of accessories that it comes with. It can be adjusted to fit your height perfectly. I also have a bad knee, so the stick helps to ease the pressure on my knee when I walk. I am not much of a survivalist, but I feel that I'd win a battle against a wild animal with this stick. I would definitely recommend it for purchase while it's on sale.

Just received and very impressed. High quality materials and all pieces are perfect in craftsmanship-sharp knives, etc. Only “complaint” is that screwdriver head doesn’t lock into place as well as all the other heads. It has not been used in the field yet but expect it to be fun.

This just arrived in the mail and I intend to put it to the test, the next coming weeks. This is first impressions and I intend to update. First once put together the staff does feel very strong. It feels like it definitely can take a beating. The compass seems accurate and actually appears useful, but without some kind of cover I feel that it can easily be damaged and broken. At the very least it should be ressessed into the staff for added protection. The glass breaker on the bottom is an incredibly dumb advertising. Mainly because it will dull over use as you use this hiking. I'm sure after first use it will never be usable as a glass breaker. The string that it comes with is useless. It appears to be a paranoid but it's not, it does not have the internal nylon to give it strength. It is also incredibly short, I can't even get my hand in it. Also the hole was not de-burred and will eventually cut any rope you put there. That was the first thing I fixed, second will be replacing the string, to a rope or paracord to a useful length. Flint and whistle does work, but why they though it is a good idea to put it on the bottom is dumb. It should be placed under the compass. Right on top for easy access. Now as for the 3 blades/tools, good thought, poor quality and execution. I don't see them lasting with any repeated use beyond first use. In fact the bladed/saw one came with a ding on the blade. They are more useful as plugs so I can store useful things in between segments. With some thought I can already imagine some improvements. Using the tools as plugs, I see myself using the segments to store a flashlight, cordage, iodine tablet, bandaids, emergency medicine, a spare key. With some manufacturing they can make internal tubes that screw in, for these type of storage. I am going to see if anyone makes plastic sealing test tubes that I can use with this.
