After dealing with persistent humidity issues in our crawl space, we decided it was time for an upgrade. Our previous dehumidifier, while functional for smaller spaces, proved inadequate for the demands of our larger, more humid crawl space. After some research, we opted for the Moiswell 145 Pint Commercial Dehumidifier, and it has been a game-changer. Installation & Initial Impressions Installing the Moiswell dehumidifier was straightforward. We mounted it securely onto the joists, a placement that not only keeps the unit out of the way but also allows for optimal airflow. The unit’s design is robust and feels like it’s built to last, which was one of the first things we noticed upon unpacking it. Once installed, we turned the unit on and monitored the humidity levels closely. At 10:30 AM, the humidity was a concerning 89%, which had been typical of our crawl space, contributing to issues like musty odors and potential mold growth. By 8 PM the same day, the Moiswell had already brought the humidity down to 64%, and by the following day at noon, it had further decreased to 59%. The rapid reduction in humidity was impressive and far exceeded our expectations based on past experiences with other dehumidifiers. Living near a creek is beautiful, but it comes with constant humidity battles, especially in the basement. This dehumidifier has been a total "lifesaver"! It pulls an impressive amount of moisture out of the air and keeps our finished basement to keep it dry and musty-smell free. It is amazing ! I couldn't believe it can draw out 85% of the humidity, and bring it down as low as 15%. Wow! The one I had running for 25 years ( that this one replaces) was larger, noisy and a big electricity draw. Not this one. It's quiet, smooth running. I love that it’s compact enough to fit in tight spots, but powerful enough to handle serious dampness. The drain hose setup makes it hassle-free, and the auto defrost and memory restart features mean I can just set it and forget it, even during storms or power flickers. If your home is near water or deals with seasonal dampness, this is built for tough jobs and absolutely worth every penny

So I had this over 30 days now. It runs almost continuously. As a matter of fact, I only turn it off for cleaning. Highly effective. Seems to be energy efficient. I truly believe that it saves on my energy bill. I’m using this in my basement as I am remodeling. It helps keep the moisture levels down and helps drywall compound setup quicker allowing for better productivity. I took away 1 star only for the fact that it seems to struggles bringing the moisture level below 30 percent even though my basement area is under 1000 square feet…and maybe I am asking for a bit too much. I am very happy with how it works and the value it brings. I purchased it in the winter but I am very confident that it will bring great benefits to all seasons of use. It is quite, effective and efficient.

So far so good ! This unit is super quiet and does what’s its supposed to! I own many buildings , garages and houses. I personally currently own 2 Santa fe commercial dehumidifiers and this Moiswell basement type dehumidifiers and several smaller in home type units , comfort for me is a must ! It’s very humid in TN ! Me and my family build large custom homes and small commercial projects in the Knox, Gatlinburg ,Blount , Sevier co. TN area . We use many of the Santa Fe commercial units in the homes we build in crawl spaces but there almost 3 times the price of the Moiswell unit ( for me and my team this is kind of a test to see how long this unit works ) . I’m impressed at this time , but time will tell! I’d say give it a try based on what I’ve seen at this point . It’s quiet , I love the detailed controls on the side and it looks nice also ! ( not that looks mean anything for something like this ) it also seams very energy efficient. This unit is in a very upscale garage with a lot of very nice tools and automobiles. So dry , nice smelling , mold and mildew prevention is a must . The size of the unit is not bad at all . I’d say it’s good value for the price ! I have this unit hard piped outside so there are no leaks at all . 👍👍
