  • Great cut off blade for 14" cut off saws.
Great quality and cut ability. I've used for cutting 1/2 and 3/4" inch iron pipe. So far blade is holding up well. Should work fine with any 14" chop saw with 1" arbor.

  • Good for the price
Style: 5 Pack
These cut off wheels were cheaper than the name brands that I have used. I have not used these extensively so I can't say how well they will hold up in the long run. They do cut well on mild steel and seem to wear similar to other brands that are the same thickness. You would not expect a thin blade to last as long has a thick blade, but a thin blade will cut faster because it is not removing as much material. One odd thing I have noticed on these is that, on the ones I got, the label says they are for angle grinders. That would not be a good idea! I did revisit the listing, and currently the picture shows the same blade but now the label says "for metal cutting saws". I don't think the blade is any different or that this is a problem but simply a mistake by their graphics department. I think for the price these are pretty good blades. To help understand how I rate items: Five stars - The product exceeded my expectations. I really love it and would actively suggest it to friends and would certainly purchase it again if needed. Four stars - The product met my expectations. It does what it claims to do. I like it and would recommend it to someone if they asked about it. I would most likely purchase it again if needed . Three stars - The product is average and for the most part does what it claims. There may be a few things I don't like about it. If I recommended it to someone, I would state my reservations. I may purchase it again if I could not find a better alternative. Two stars - The product fell far short of my expectations. It may, in some respects, do what it claims to do but has far too many problems to overlook. I would never recommended it to someone nor would I ever purchase it again. There is a good possibility I would return it. One star - The product is terrible. It has way too many cons and few if any pros. I would actively warn my friends away from it and would most likely return it if possible. ... show more

  • Excellent Value for Cutoff Wheel - Recommended
Product Reviewed: 3 pack Sidco Supply 14 Inch Cut Off Wheel Blade - 14" x 3/32" x 1” for $15 TL;DR; 2.5mm; tested in sheet metal; direct fit on my 1” arbor cutoff saw I use cutoff saws for routine jobs not suitable for bandsaws. In this case I tested by cutting galvanized steel gutter. I was attracted to these blades since they claimed to be 3/32” but measuremnents of the unused blade seem to indicate they are the same thickness as my used 7/64” blade I removed for the test. The blade is marked 2.5mm vs. My old blade of 3mm. I cut steel gutter with the blade as a test and it performed basically the same as my Dewalt branded blade at a substantial discount. Out of the package the blade was well balanced and cut smoothly. No complaints and I find these to be an excellent value. In addition I suspect normal blade wear will thin the surface roughness so I expect the 2.5mm thickness will appear to reduce cutting forces. 5 Stars. Highly recommended. How I review: Reviews start with 5 stars and I subtract points. - 0 for value but I try to provide guidance -0.5 to -3 for product not matching description e.g. stainless steel is actually plated steel -0.5 to -3 for product missing badly on execution I select products carefully so low (1-3 scores) are rare but detailed comments and critiques almost always are in the review. Most of my reviews come out 4-5 range. If possible I dismantle or destroy items to examine inner workings. ... show more

  • Odd pattern of exposed glass fabric on surfaces
A chop saw is likely my least favorite tool. Mine is a Ryobi from the mid 90’s, can trip a 20a breaker if you load it enough, has a cast iron base, and is ridiculously heavy to carry outside each time it is called to service. That said, it performs a unique function, unless you are lucky enough to have a cold saw available. I compared these Vulcan wheels to some Norton and some Flexovit wheels I have on hand. What stands out is the exposed embedded fiberglass cloth on both sides of the Vulcan. Neither the Norton nor the Flexovit have anything like that showing. The Flexovit and the Vulcan both claim to be 3/32” thick (.093”) but each measure about .116”. The Norton says it is 7/64” (.109”) but measures about .126”. Diameters are all close to 14” with the Flexovit +1/16”, the Norton -1/32”, and the Vulcan in between. The 1” mounting hole on the Vulcan was a bit sloppier than either the Norton or the Flexovit, when placed on the saw’s arbor there was a bit more radial play. Despite this the Vulcan spun up on my Ryobi with no unusual vibrations. I’m left wondering about the odd exposed cloth on these Vulcan wheels. Also, the instructions on the label say “For Angle Grinders” which I think is probably not what they mean. I’ve not seen a 14” angle grinder, and I don’t think these thin wheels would be appropriate for any side grinding. 4 stars. ... show more
