First box was missing the window installation kit, but the replacement included all parts. Once we had everything, the installation was very easy. Also easy to remove the window piece and move the unit around the house. Works fantastic in the bedroom, but also is effective in the open dining/kitchen/living room by using a box fan to extend the air flow. Works well as a dehumidifier. We have the drainage tube leading to a two gallon bucket that has to be emptied once a day in Michigan in July. I imagine that it more traditionally humid areas, it would need to be emptied more, but that proves it's pulling the water out of the air.

We needed a new ac for my bedroom as it stopped working. My husband and I decided to get a stronger AC for the living room as the one out there was not strong enough to really cool the whole area. Our living room and kitchen is one giant room. I searched for days and kept back to this one. It would get here by that Saturday, it was under $300, and it was 12,000btu. The reviews were amazing and the ones that weren't seemed like user error or the AC was being used in a room that would have other factors that affected its cooling abilities besides room size. Our room based on size alone should have been able to get cool with 8,000btu but because it's not well insulated, we have a fridge, and we cook in the kitchen we needed to up the BTU. If you are needing a portable ac, this is perfect! But please make sure you look up how many BTU you need because there's other factors that affect your needs besides room size! All that being said, it is a little loud but we don't mind. We have not tried the sleep function yet. Installation was super easy and simple to follow and the instruction manual was very thorough on care. It is definitely portable, you can use it at any window or if you're handy, run it through the wall like I've seen others do. We won't be able to see how it affects our electric bill for a bit since we did just get it this weekend.

I have had the 14,000 btu for less than 6 months. Last week it made a very loud grinding noise and stopped working before I could turn it off. Upon inspection, I found that a fan had ripped itself apart. I found all the pieces when took the exaust duct off. After contacting customer service, they told me they would replace it. A few days later I get an email saying that the 14,000 btu is no longer available, would I accept a 12,000 btu instead. Reluctantly I said ok. Please send it soon, its hot. A few days later, I get another email saying the 12,000 btu is not available, would I accept a 10,000 btu. This is when I lost it. Told them I would not accept this and please give me a refund so I can order one on my own. Btw both the 14,000 and 12,000 btu units are still available on Amazon to order. I don't understand what the point is. Why have a warranty when you can't fix or replace what I bought. And why make me feel like I'm getting scammed because your product failed??? Im on week 2 of waiting to get some sort of resolution. So if you order from this company, good luck, hopefully you have a better experience than I did.

Everyone knows these stand alone units do not cool as well as window air conditioners but I thought 12,000 would be better than 6,400 in the window. Its not. My central air went out so I thought more btu. The 6400 in the widow was 1000 times better. On 95 degree days in the later evening the 6400 kept 75 with no humidity. This one the temp goes to 81. Still better than outside and keeps the humidity down but not worth it. Its worth just having one hang out the window for a little while. 1300 sq. Ft. Open living and dining room ranch house. Just buy the 8000 btu Walmart in a pinch.

I recently purchased this 12,000 BTU portable AC for $269 with a coupon—astonishingly just $1 more than the 10,000 BTU Honeywell unit I bought back in 2017. What’s even more impressive is that despite being 20% more powerful, it’s at least 30% (if not >) smaller than the old Honeywell. Setting it up was a breeze, and it cools efficiently with straightforward controls. The remote works flawlessly, and I love the vent placement, which I find superior to the typical top-position vents on most portable ACs. While it offers only low and high fan speeds, missing a mid-range setting, it’s not a major issue. One minor downside is that when the room reaches the desired temperature, the unit stops completely instead of switching to fan mode for continuous air circulation. Although I prefer constant airflow, this isn’t a deal breaker. Noise-wise, it’s quieter than my old Honeywell on both speed settings. My previous unit excelled in automatic water evaporation—I only had to empty the tank twice in eight years during extremely humid spells. Time will tell how this new unit performs in that regard. Finally given the fact that this is a no-name Chinese brand which may or may not exist in a couple of years or even over the one year warranty period--I’m taking a risk it’s manufactured at a minimum quality standard acceptable for a product of this nature and doesn’t fall apart or start giving problems soon. We shall see.
