The only catch is that the tire needs to be MTX 622-50 or there abouts , if you have the 700c front or rear kit. You need a bigger tire anyway, since on a road bike you're doing 45mph at midpoint gains setting. When I shifted into gain4 at 45mph, I inadvertently pulled a wheelie. Product is good reliable however, the wheel hub itself is poorly put together the spokes that come from the hub to the rim are very low-grade for 15 months and had to replace two spokes and brand new from the factory. The rim was not true. Had a wash to it. I had a local bike shop straighten it as best as possible, so buyer beware. ... show more

There was a heck of a struggle getting it. Very frustrating. But so far what you get is pretty darn good quality relatively tough I wrecked already. Luckily I was only going around 15 mph. I have a gt transio bike that I got it on. I've had it up to 44 mph GPS confirmed. I dont know why there aren't more warnings about how powerful these things are! If you are going under 20 mph you have to be very careful with the throttle or the front end will lift out of control. This is my first ebike. I think the torque is a lot different then a motorcycle. I've riding motorcycles pretty much all my life on and offroad. Right now I got it running on 4 5amp makita batteries. I didn't feel like buying a single 550 dollar battery. 550 seemed the cheapest I could go to get a legitimate 72 volt battery so I decided on tried and true power tool batteries. ... show more

Put the 3000w rear hub motor on my Trek dual sport with a 3000w battery. I didn't bother installing the pedal assist sensor, brake levers, or the brake cables with magnetic sensors. Only connected the color LCD display, throttle, alarm with lock/unlock key fob, and controller to the battery. It has 5 speeds or gears within the hub motor and I've reached 54 mph on flat road and that was only in 4th gear! Customer service is excellent!! 3000w, 80 amp make draw contoller. Not for the non mechanically inclined, but if you are diving into a diy ebike, odds are you can turn a wrench. This thing is a beast on a bicycle. DO NOT give the throttle a full twist on PAS 5 under 20mph. If you weigh what I do (160 lbs), you WILL wheelie. Had to dig through google to get instructions for adjusting the display from metric to standard and dropping the current rate down on the controller to match my battery, which is 72v, 20ah with a 50A BMS, surge draw can match it, but I didn't wanna push it. My peddling is more of an afterthought for this bike for all its power on PAS 5. Its insane how powerful this thing is. Ann at NBpower can even build you a custom battery, should you need one and NB power has that old school customer service that puts all others to shame. 3-1-22 edit: Hills? What hills?
