So far so good. Okay, wannabe mad scientist here. I'm planning on building an ebike from scratch, and I decided to use this system as my drivetrain. So far, I'm super impressed. While, it can be confusing to set up, it wasn't allllllll that hard, and we figured it out. Tho, watch out for that pop when you plug the battery in. Someone needs to warn ya about that. But, other than that, I am thrilled with this system. I have a 48V 33ah battery from a dead scooter, and it seems to work fine. The controller display made it surprisingly easier than most bikes to make adjustments. Which gives one a lot of confidence in their setup. I'm also pleased to report, they emailed me before shipping to verify the specs and settings, so they could preset them up. I like that it came with a throttle instead of that silly push button. I have yet to figure out the alarm stuff yet. My only advice to the seller is, please print better pictures of the setup. It was hard to see the cable colors. Also, I've noticed a few extra cables ports. Not sure what to do with those? But, other then that, you've provided me a fine product, and if I need to upgrade the battery, I'll come here first. ... show more

In the past I've used a 750 watt hub motor and a 500 watt mid-drive motor, and let me tell you, this thing absolutely puts those to shame. I was expecting a big difference, but not as big a difference as it really is. This thing is really, really powerful. I had some concerns about using a 72v battery with a max output of 60 amps (not the 80 amps this motor wants), but I've had no issues and was also able to limit the power draw to 60 amps with the included display -- which, by the way, is very nice as well. This motor is even quieter than the other two motors I've used too. As a very rough approximation, it's *about* 30-35 watt hours per mile. Paired with a 72v 20AH battery (72 * 20 = approximately 1440 watt hours total), that means I should be able to get about 40 miles per charge if I want to push the battery pack. Considering the torque that this thing puts out, that's just mind blowing to me. With the battery and frame I used, my ebike now weighs about 60 pounds and will go about 60mph. It's the lightest, fastest means of transportation I've ever seen, personally. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This is my first product/customer service review that I have done in many, many years. However, this being my first, high powered ebike build, wanted to share my experience with NB Power's product and customer service. As with most upcoming technology, there were a number of "hiccups" with this build, that have been troubleshot and resolved. This was a learning experience for me, as these builds do take a certain level of mechanical knowledge to complete properly. NB Power's excellent customer department was there for me every step of the way. Amazing service. I purchased this 3000 watt kit from NB Power and a 72 volt triangle battery from another manufacture in order to save a few dollars. A big mistake on my part.... battery not compatible with kit. 2 weeks later, a battery recommended by NB Power was purchased and works/worked flawlessly. After new battery was received and installed, a "30H" error appeared on the display screen, with no hub motor function. I reached out to NB Power's customer service department, and after several trouble shooting procedures, it was determined that the controller was at fault. With constant contact from Anne regarding shipping information, a new controller was sent, received and installed. New controller did the trick with power to the rear hub, but display would not read MPH or any other viable information. Again, with the assistance of NB Powers' technical department, we were able to troubleshoot the issue and problem was resolved. I felt that Anne and the technical support team shared the same passion of finishing the build as I did. Even with the 12 hour time difference, many of my questions were answered after I assume their technical department was closed for the day. Amazing and first class customer service. As stated in previous reviews, this 3000 watt kit has surprising strong torque and speed. Will knock you off on your back if you don't show the throttle respect. Personally haven't taken the PAS past 5 (out of 9). Have reached speeds to 35 MPH in no time. I do feel this bike is capable of 50 MPH... way to fast for me. In conclusion, some time and finances were involved for me. I didn't mind at all knowing that this could be a challenge. NB Power was excellent from start to finish. They provided out standing communication and backed their product with confidence and pride. ... show more

Buyer beware: i was promised a wheel instead i was sold a lemon. used product sold as new. the first picture is of a spoke with no lug on it at all. the second picture is of one of the rusty lugs. a few ended up being worse then that one after we looked closer. out of aprx 38 spokes 1 was missing and 13 were rusty/corroded . the rest of the pics are just examples of a road used product. from scratches and dings to grime on the cord nub where it goes into the motor. there was also a nice warp to it but by then i was just so disappointed in the wheel i just gave up on making more pics of the damages. this wheel is rated for over 60 mph. if 14/38 spokes are no good you are going to wreck its just a matter of when. i guess they dont really care if i get hurt as long as my credit card was good. i asked for a replacement and was offered 50% off by the seller if i test it and it works. i thought to myself hey i can just go pay home depot 75 cents for a brick why pay $325? and they also made sure to push there batteries on me one last time. so i refunded the purchase and end up with a bunch of wasted time and will never know if this wheels any good. since i cant trust them anymore i also cant buy any other products from the compony. by the way if your package comes from Wisconsin its used since thats where i sent mine back to and the new ones be shipping from the LA warehouse. we are very unsatisfied with this conclusion, fly safe guys and good luck if you buy from Electric Power/NBpower ... show more
