  • A powerful kit that's easy to install, very fun to use, and sold by a good company.
Color: 27.5inch Rear
Buying a product from this company is no different than dealing with an American business. You can talk to them using WhatsApp before, and after your purchase which allows you to request express shipping. I chose express for an additional $120, and received my e-bike kit in less than a week from overseas. The box was delivered by FedEx in good condition, and inside everything was packed well. This build uses a new 2021 Schwinn Al Comp. It has an aluminum hydro formed frame, front/rear mechanical disc brakes, shimano shifters/derailleur/gears, 27.5in MTB tires, suspension forks upfront, and rear hardtail to allow room inside the frame for the battery later on (using rear tire rack temporarily). Bought the bike already assembled at a store that starts with W and ends with mart for $240 total. I had to remove the plastic spacer from the kit for the disc brake so that the motor’s wire had more clearance, and wouldn’t get caught on the screws (picture attached). The backpack, and bungee cords are temporary until I build a housing for the battery that fits in the frame. I am using a 72V 20ah Li-ion battery with a 50amp BMS, and XT60 connector that I purchased on Amazon for about $600 from a seller in China ("Grade A" cells but they're generic). Most of you know this, but as you drain the battery your precious voltage also goes down, and before you know it you have to increase the system power level (1-5) so that you can maintain the same speed/torque. When I have a fully charged battery with all 72+ volts, motor power level set to 5, a flat road, and light wind I can achieve a speed of 43mph according to the LCD, but that number might be 2mph over if radar speed signs are correct--> me: 217lbs + bike: est.95lbs.Yes, the motor/controller get hot when you're using throttle only for at least 15 miles at an average speed of 25-30mph, but so far it seems to operate just fine, and I can place my bare hand on the motor without discomfort so I guess it’s probably a normal amount of heat considering the total weight, and constant throttle usage. Also, hills are a joke to me. On power levels 4 and 5 I was able to climb a very steep hill, throttle only, that was entirely grass which kind of gives you an idea of the torque level. You can have offroad fun similar to a small displacement gas enduro in certain situations/terrains...how long the motor and controller last before getting super hot from just air-cooling is another question, but if you stay at 3 (power level I use most) you'll probably be alright. Now, to explain why I gave this kit 4.5 out of 5 stars. It did not come with rim tape which is absolutely necessary before applying the tube and wheel so I used some electrical tape I had. When I was applying the "rim tape" I noticed that one of the holes for the spokes had a sharp metal edge piece/point protruding up that would definitely puncture the tube once you put weight on it so I had to break it off with needle nose pliers. I checked each of the spokes, and one of them was loose, and I had to tighten it before beginning the installation. The manual that comes with the kit is ok, but it should include more detailed information that is kept up-to-date. For example, in the manual there is a picture with labels for the wires from the controller, but the kit you're using does not have wires that exactly match the picture, which isn't a big deal, I was able to figure it out after comparing stuff. For some reason the LCD (SW900) appears to only have 3 digits for the wattage display even though the max output of the motor is at least 2,000W which would require 4 digits to display accurately, and the numbers that do show up seem a little random, jumping from 848 to 436 to 674 even though the throttle input hasn’t changed, and there's also no battery voltage display. It would be nice if the manual had a spec sheet at the end with all the P# settings/values listed for the SW900, in order to double-check the pre-configured factory settings. I could be wrong, but perhaps this kit should have 2 torque arms instead of one to make sure the dropouts do not snap from prolonged use at the highest power levels. Last thing, there’s a slight metal brushing/grinding-ish sound from the motor that you can only hear if passing very close to a fence/wall, and it could be totally normal. Overall, I am happy with this purchase, and would buy another kit from them if I ever wanted to upgrade. • 40MPH flat, 48 mph down hill w/ 72 volt battery.
Color: 29inch Rear
I've built a few ebikes before, and if this is your first it will be tricky. There really aren't any instructions and you should have good tools and a bike stand. I knew that going in so it's no problem. I paired this with a hardtail 29er, 20 ah 72 volt battery and it rips! I'm 200 lbs and full charged can get me about 38 mph. slight downhill or lighter person easily breaks 40. Plenty of power. The main thing they could improve is with the pedal assist sensor. When you pedal a bit, it counts it as max and goes max power of that level. I guess they'd need a torque sensor or cadence should work, but it's a bit annoying for it to suddenly take off. I have over 600 miles already and it has worn the tire down but no issues. ... show more

  • Good kit, great company
Color: 27.5inch Rear
The media could not be loaded. It's a good kit by a great company. I had some issues with a couple of the parts in my kit. However, the customer service was excellent and I got speedy replacements. I installed the kit to a Giant Talon XL Aluminum mountain bike with disk brakes. I added a few things such as 12V converter for automotive grade LED lights, a rack to mount my battery, a full frame bag, and different sprockets. I put a 52 tooth front, and 34-11 tooth rear freewheel on it. This allows low gear to pedal uphill with no electric assist, and also pedal along at a comfortable cadence up to 45 MPH. Just keep in mind you need a compatible rear derailleur and a few extra links in your chain. I would recommend similar upgrades if doing long commutes and night riding. The power is great and on the higher settings will try to wheelie if you're not careful. I paired mine with a Unit Pack Power 72V 40Ah battery. That battery is very big and heavy, makes the bike awkward to maneuver when I'm not on top of it, and required a beefy custom mount. Not the battery I'd recommend for everyone, but I wanted lots of range and it was cheap. The range is 40 to 120 miles. I'm a tall and heavy rider, so me on the bike with battery, tools, lunch, work clothes and water comes out to 330 lbs. I have lots of steep hills and it's been windy lately. Even so, a charged battery gets up to 45 MPH on a slight incline very quickly with no pedaling. This style of riding averages 40 MPH will result in only about 1 mile per Ah. If I pedal along with it and average 35 MPH, it uses 11Ah to go 20 miles on those same hills, so the range is nearly doubled this way. Now a note here, I adjusted my amperage down from 40 to 20 Amps. There was only a slight uphill acceleration loss, but the efficiency went up, and the heat buildup went way down. I tried various set points, and I recommend 20-25 Amps. I think the motor and controller will last a lot longer this way(84V for charged 72V nominal battery X 40 Amps = 3360 Watts!, way over the 2000 Watt advertised rating), and I can confirm the range for 20 Amps is improved at the same speeds. Also note, that if you intend to use this kit over 25 MPH, I strongly suggest you have disk brakes and wear protective gear. I also recommend getting your wheels trued up perfect. if they're wobbling and bouncing it's going to be really bad at high speed. I recommend this kit to anyone with a little mechanical knowledge and OK with putting in some work to get a great end result. As a motorcyclist who also cycles for exercise (since my knees aren't the best when I run a lot), this kit is a perfect in-between which lets me commute to work, get my exercise, and have fun all at the same time. ... show more
