My brother had a broken power supply for his radio/cd player/alarm clock. My son had a spare 12 volt power supply for the multiple hard-drives used in his business. I had a spare connection to mate the new power supply with the cd player. I spent half a day looking for the last one that I had in stock. Hint: it was in with the radio gear. :-) I've used these often in low voltage configurations and frequently find myself without although the BNC connections are new to me. I try to keep a few spares available. They're inexpensive and adaptable. 16 gauge wire is the largest stranded wire that I can fit to the terminals.

I actually love using these types of connectors to make quick, temporary connections for power, signal, or whatever else. Really, most of these that you buy are cheap, but these ones feel cheaper - the connections, whether the BNC-BNC or Jack Plug, don't feel solid. This doesn't mean they don't work, but I'm not sure of the longevity of them. Your mileage may vary, of course, and they're not expensive -- they do work, but I just don't like the feel and not sure how long they'll last.

I will probably never need the BNC connectors from this set, but I do need the 5.5mm x 2.1mm connectors for several projects I am working on. Since soldering is messy and difficult in tight spaces, on ladders, etc., I decided that I would be best served if I went with this style of connector. So far, I am mostly pleased with the quality, although I noticed that the center pin on one of the female connectors has a split in it. I also noticed that when used with 5.5x2.1 male connectors from various power supplies I have on hand, the fit between them and the female connectors from this kit was a bit tight. They work, but they're just a little difficult to push together. However, the male and female connectors in the kit easily fit together as expected.

I got these for one of them to run from a 12v PSU to a WLED controller. The build quality is pretty average. I can't think of anything to complain about with these. They got the job done.

For my needs, this product is overweight in BNC with the real benefit to me being the 5521 connectors. We have many AC wall adapters for various devices and this can bring some life back to those that supply 5 to 15v. BNC connectors are designed for use with coaxial cables, which provide better shielding and controlled impedance compared to 2-wire connections. At frequencies below 10 MHz mismatches might have negligible effects, making them suitable for a wide range of low-frequency applications.

BNC attachments are a bonus. The BNC appears to be for 50 ohm. The Bad: Most BNC is for RF, and this won't work great for coax and will lose the shielding. But some BNC is used for audio, and this would be great for that.
