  • Works fine.
Used it for a while, not very powerful but does the job.

  • Lasted 5 years
In this world of obsolescence, my P.I. just died after 5 years of service. Service to my three cars tires, my trailer tires, my lawnmowers, utility carts, and anything else that needed air. It has been well used and served us well the entire time. One thing I liked about it a lot is that it has a screw-on nozzle for the tires. This enabled us to use it on many things when the valve stems were not quite installed correctly. I see that they have taken this away in newer models so I am not sure I will like it as much. As much of my service work was not on the road, but in the garage, I found the adapter to a wall outlet invaluable. I used that many more times than I did the plug-in to the cigarette lighter. It came with my original purchase I believe, but i cannot tell whether it does now or not. Somehow the hose carrying the air to the tire sprang a leak inside the casing. I could not fix it so it could no longer pump up the car tires beyond a certain pressure. it has a big light as well not only to see by, but to warn people when you might be on the side of the road. A good product that lasted quite a while. ... show more

  • Simple - Fast - Great Features -- P.I. Premium Digital Tire Inflator -- Highly Recommend
Wow, this PI Premium Digital Tire Inflator was the answer for me!! With my tires way low on psi -- and the arrival of the unit this afternoon -- I couldn't use it fast enough. When my warning light came on stating low tire air pressure a few days ago, I could not find a gas station air pump that was working. I do live in the outskirts of Chicago -- 40 miles west and today was the last day it would be above 0 degrees. IT IS COLD IN CHICAGO-LAND and tires lose air quickly when you leave Summer/Fall and go into the Winter months. Knowing that tomorrow's temperature would be under 0 degrees in my garage, I immediately read the very clear instructions that came with the unit and proceeded to handle filling all four tires. As the instructions state, do know what voltage your car's power outlet can handle, along with how much psi is needed for your particular car model. You can usually find that tire information on the insides of the door panel. I drive a 2013 Kia Optima and verified I had 12.0 volts which is what this unit requires. FOLLOW THE SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS and you will have all four tires, if all need air, completed in about 10 minutes or less -- as was the case for me. One important instruction was to insert the power cable into the 12V and THEN START the car's engine. Seeing that instruction -- in the simple, easy-to-read pamphlet provided -- was important since many individuals might start the car's engine and then insert the power cable. That may cause fuse to blow. I'm not sure on this point -- but I always follow the important instructions when it comes to car engine's and power outlets -- VERY IMP! I cannot believe how they have improved on the various features of Tire Inflators. For the last 10 years, I utilized an air inflator that ran on a battery and had to be maintained often i.e., keeping the unit charged. The unit finally "died on me" after ten years of good service. It was time for me to convert to the "digital" tire inflator...smile...and it is going to make my life so much easier. With this current P.I. inflator, once you set the psi -- which for my car was 33psi, it automatically saves that setting after you fill the first tire. When you get to the "set" button, it will give you the various measurement units. For me, I wanted "psi" and when it appeared, I then set up my 33psi for air tire pressure. It automatically shuts off air inflator once it gets to the setting you input. Once your tire(s) is inflated, you then shut the air compressor button to "off" and remove power plug from the 12 volt unit (cigarette lighter). IMPORTANT: All of this is contained within the simple and well-written instructions on third page entitled, OPERATION INSTRUCTONS." Read it so you know first-hand that you are following instructions correctly. What great features - made the task so simple and easy for me. I highly recommend this product. Thank you, P.I. for offering it on Amazon. Since I'm an Amazon Prime Member, I received the unit with free shipping within two days. It was so convenient. Being an independent woman, making wise and important purchases such as this one gives me peace of mind. ... show more

This has been holding up pretty well after several years of occasional use.

  • Big buttons and large display.
I'm happy that this auto-reads your pressure once connected. Saves time from having to undo the pump, to check the pressure with a metal gauge. Buttons push in deep (easier with gloves, so you know the click registered). This works well at pumping to 35 psi. It also came with courtesy items: 4 Spare Dust Caps (1 metal lined), and a bike adapter! Glad to be prepared with this in the car. Quick guide for noobs (updated after talking to support): 1) Make sure your car is in PARK, and put your emergency brake on for safety. 2) Turn ON your car's engine while in park. (This updated model is designed for the engine to be turned on. This prevents your battery from being drained. The pump is powerful, so your battery might drain if you don't turn on the engine.) 3) Unlock your doors, and keep 1 door open if you can. (So you don't lock yourself out. But if on the freeway, don't keep your driver door open.) 4) Plug the pump in your lighter. (The display should turn on.) 5) Press the light button to test there is power. (If not, pull the plug out. Push in again, and rotate in case there was grime in your slot.) 6) Find your recommended tire pressure: look on the inside of your door. You can also check the tire. (Use the door number unless you got aftermarket tires. My tire gave a Max number of 44 PSI, when you DON'T want to pump that high. You only want to pump to 35, as the door says.) 7) Go to your pump to set your PSI number: -a) Hold the Plus sign a few seconds until it blinks. b) Release. c) Keep pressing Plus or Minus until the number goes to the PSI goal that you want to pump. d) Release the button, wait, and blinking turns off. 8) Don't press the ON button yet. Now connect the pump to the tire. It will give your tire PSI. -a) If the number is going down, then you didn't get a solid connection. -b) So take it off. Align the hole (rubber ring). Push in hard until you hear air leaking. Then quickly close the value. This got me a stable number. 9) Now press ON and it should pump. It stops at your number. -a) If not, turn it off, take off the connector, and recheck your PSI with a metal gauge. (For first-time use, make sure your unit is good. The pump should give you a PSI number that matches your metal gauge with a +/- difference of 2.) -b) Then re-attach the connector and press ON. (The pump won't start if your tire pressure is already higher than the SET number or tire rating. Don't overinflate!) ... show more
