I have a barn in central Texas. It's in the middle of nowhere. When night falls, it gets dark. I mean, a profound, absolute darkness that city folks can’t really comprehend. This darkness is not empty. It is filled with coyotes, wild hogs, and other assorted creatures that I would prefer to keep at a respectful distance from my property. My old security light was a dim, yellowish bulb that did little more than create spooky shadows. It was time for a serious upgrade. I found this 120W LED Wall Pack Light and the specifications seemed promising. 15,600 lumens sounded like a lot. I wasn't entirely sure how many lumens I needed to scare off a stubborn hog, but I figured more was better. When the light arrived, it was a solid, heavy-duty unit. It felt like a piece of industrial equipment, not a flimsy fixture from a big box store. Installation was straightforward. I’m comfortable with basic wiring, and the instructions were clear enough. I mounted it on the side of the barn, replacing the old, sad fixture. I positioned it to overlook the main approach and a good portion of the surrounding ground. With everything connected, I flipped the breaker and waited for dusk. As the sun went down, the photocell on the light did its job. The light didn't just turn on. It erupted. It was like a miniature sun had been attached to the side of my barn. The 5000K daylight color temperature is no exaggeration. It bathed the wall and a massive area of the ground below in crisp, clear, white light. The darkness wasn't just pushed back; it was obliterated. The effect on the local nightlife was immediate. I used to hear coyotes yipping just beyond the fence line every evening. Now, there is silence. The hogs, which would often root around near the barn, have given the illuminated area a wide berth. It’s as if I’ve created a demilitarized zone of pure light. The world inside the beam is safe and visible, while the world outside is where the wild things are. The light runs from dusk until dawn without any intervention from me, a silent, brilliant sentinel. This light is fantastic. It’s incredibly powerful, well-built, and the dusk-to-dawn feature works perfectly. It has provided a level of security and peace of mind that my old light never could. Once it is mounted and connected, the built in dusk to dawn photocell handles the rest, turning the light on when evening rolls in and off again when the sun rises. The automatic feature alone makes it worth the effort of installation. This light is also a real show off in terms of power and coverage. It easily replaces those old bulky high pressure sodium or metal halide lights that used to hum and flicker like something out of a horror movie. The LED glow is steady, clean, and crisp, giving you that 5000K daylight tone that makes everything crystal clear. It does not just light up an area, it completely transforms it. Looks to be good value for money. It is built to last, too. The housing feels solid enough to survive a small storm, and the waterproof construction makes it ideal for outdoor use around warehouses, garages, building perimeters, or any place that needs reliable brightness. In my case, it has been perfect for the backyard, especially since we back up to woods. The light practically turns the trees into a stage set, and our dog now struts around like he is on a spotlighted runway. I've had a similar light installed in the front for several years now and it's been great for lighting up the front yard. This one has a few design differences but functionally and visually identical to that one and has been working great so far. -Light sensor ensures it turns on when you need it. <Turns on during storms and at dusk when it gets dark. Turns off when it gets bright enough and saves money. -Housing is very durable and will hold up even in the worst storms. -Very bright and will light up a front/back yard easily. -Installation is very easy and basic for electrical stuff. <White, black, and ground. -It can be hooked up to conduit pipe (or wired in) from the top, sides, or back and the light sensor can be moved around as needed. -You do have to drill through the housing in order to mount it as there are no predrilled holes.
