This was a very frustrating build. It's not that it's difficult, it's that it is very tedious and it's even more challenging if you foolishly do it yourself, without any help, like I did. I was able to get it put together, alone, in 90 minutes, but not without several bouts of swearing. The clamps that hold the "backrest" bars together are fussy, and if you don't have an extra hand or two to help you try to hold everything level and in place, so that they will click and sink closer together before fastening, you too will get frustrated. On one side, one of them looks a little warped/bent, but it's not terribly noticeable, except that it's obvious to me, since I put it together. I had about 3 or 4 screws that didn't want to go where they were supposed to go easily and they began stripping metal out of their home. I had to resolve that by swapping places with a few of the same size and they went in more easily. The kit supplies 1 extra of every screw/bolt, and two different sized wrenches that were adequate for the task. I did use my own ratcheting screwdriver with an M8 key head for a few of them, though. The material is all fairly lightweight, although the entire box is quite hefty. Thankfully, there is no styrofoam in the box at all, just some thick cardboard pieces and a few pieces of plastic sponge to keep the parts from getting scratched or dented. The instructions could be a little better, but they were merely adequate enough to get the job done. It does look like a nice daybed, once it's assembled. The price at about $150ish seems fair. It's a better deal if it is on sale, when it's available. Apart from the frustrating assembly process, and some challenging bolts, the only other complaint is the mattress holder - there is only one, in the center of the daybed, and that means the mattress can still wobble out at wonky angles, depending on how one sits down and gets up from it. It would have been nice if there were two more of those small panels to keep the front corners of the mattress in place. ... show more

I consider myself very good with constructing all type of items and the reviews that say this bed was installed in less than an hour is bologna unless the person had help. The instructions alone with the parts list took about 20 minutes to figure out alone. One part was labeled wrong but I was able to figure it out. With help it will take at least 1.5 hours. After installed,I will say it is a very sturdy bed. I gave it 4 stars due to miss labeling of one part and tuff to read instructions! ... show more
