I must say that initially I was very skeptical about a queen sized mattress at this price point. I was actually pleasantly surprised by this product! It arrived faster than initially expected, which is always a pleasant surprise. The box was quite small considering what was inside. The box did weigh quite a bit, and it was somewhat difficult for me at 5’5 and 127 pounds to get it inside from the porch. Once the box is opened, you are able to slide out a large roll that is vacuum, sealed and wrapped in a thick VS queen type plastic. Inside the package, there is a booklet of instructions with precisely what needs to take place, along with graphics, in order to properly open and expand the mattress. Inside this information package is also a small plastic cutter with a safety blade that ensures that you do not cut yourself, nor the mattress while opening. I thought this was a very thoughtful touch! I could see how you could easily cut the mattress if trying to use scissors and we’re not being extremely careful. Once you unwrap the outer plastic layer, you are instructed to glide the cutter that is provided along the vacuum, sealed portion of the package containing the mattress, rolled up. As soon as you make the first cut into this portion of the packaging, you immediately start to hear the air escaping from the packaging. The mattress starts to immediately expand and continues to expand gradually over the next 72 hours. I opened the mattress. I received over 72 hours ago, and am pleased to report that it has indeed expanded to the full 12 inches as advertised in the listing. The mattress itself is actually quite comfortable! It is firm and supportive, but not to firm or hard. The listing mentions a “pillow top“ however I did not feel like this was a true pillow top, or at least not the ones I am used to on a mattress. From the top of the mattress, you cannot feel the coils, but immediately from the side contained within the “pillow top“ portion of mattress the springs can easily be felt alongside that area. Overall, the mattress does feel very comfortable to lay on, and feels very sturdy. The top of the mattress is very soft to the touch. The mattress is very easy to open and set up. The firmness is exactly as described by being supportive yet not too hard. The comfort aspect of the mattress was very good in my opinion. I have only just begun using this mattress, so I cannot speak to the longevity. We plan to use this in a guestroom, and I feel that it will be absolutely perfect for that purpose. I do think that the quality and value for the cost is excellent so far in my opinion. The mattress does include information regarding a very limited warranty. There are several caveats to this warranty, but generally speaking, they will either repair or replace the mattress if there is any manufacturers defect, which I believe is an asset. To me, this show shows that they stand behind their product, and I can appreciate that. ... show more

    • Great support except on edges
This is my second mattress from this manufacturer, and I got this second one because I get a great sleep on the first one, so I came back. The mattress is not ultra firm, but just as advertised, it's medium firm, much firmer than my old mattresses. It's like falling into a firm cloud. The support reminds me of hotel mattresses, which also give me a great sleep. The feel is like a firm center material with softer material layered over it, like a mattress with a built in duvet as a mattress topper. I wouldn't describe this as soft at all, but it's also not extra firm. Another characteristic of this mattress that is different from my old mattresses is that it is very, very heavy. It took a lot of dragging and rolling for me to get this to a back bedroom by myself. Someone younger and stronger or maybe two people would be able to do it more easily. Leaving it in the cardboard box was very helpful for dragging it along my floor. So, once I got it on my bed, I made sure to place it carefully on the boxspring near the foot, positioned just the way the plastic packaging said to, and when I cut it open and it expanded, it expanded almost perfectly into the right spot. I did have to make adjustments here and there as it settled in. By the way, I happen to use a boxspring, but you don't need to at all. One thing I worried about was being able to get the plastic wrapping out from underneath the heavy mattress once it was opened, but that turned out to be pretty easy. Instructions say to give it time to expand, but mine seemed to expand pretty quickly. I got the mattress cover and sheet on as fast as I could, trying to take advantage of the more compressed size, but it felt like it was fully expanded right away. There is no odor or smell to this mattress at all; at least, I didn't notice any. Speaking of linens, make sure that you get fitted sheets with deep pockets for the best fit. My regular sheets actually go almost all the way down and have a pretty firm grip on the mattress even without being able to fold all the way under, kind of like magic, but I highly recommend getting sheets designed for such a high mattress. While I love the height, it's a bit of a challenge to get onto the mattress because the sides cave in as you climb in. I use velvet sheets, so that means, unless I dive in, my legs and knees start to slide off the mattress if I'm not quick enough. The same for sitting on the side of the mattress--you can't. The mattress edges just keeping sinking until you slide off. This is the reason that I deducted a star, but I love everything else about it. If you can deal with the soft edges, I can highly recommend this mattress. I sleep great on it, unlike on my softer, old mattress. ... show more
