This hammock is perfect. I bought it for my wife on her birthday and she absolutely loves it! It was easy to put together- me and my 13 year old son put it together in about 15-20min. I recommend you have a partner to at least hold parts together while you tighten them down. I did not use the wrenches that came with it as it would have taken longer and I have the right tools. Do not forget the washers!! It’s pretty large and looks great, we jokingly call it Noah’s Ark. It’s pretty sturdy for one person or maybe two kids, not two adults. It boasts a 300lb limit but I’m not testing it. We’ve only had it a few weeks and it’s amazing. I take the hammock off the stand when the weather looks bad. This was just what I was looking for to add to our new patio. My husband said it was easy to assemble and the hammock itself is very sturdy. I love the canvas fabric, didn't want the net type. We roll the hammock up when bad weather is on the way, but when the frame is empty my husband says it looks like a Viking ship under construction. He's so funny! I just cut & pasted my review headline from someone else's review because it said exactly what my issue is with this purchase. Because the hammock material is thin, with the slightest wind it spins around and around and the wood gets stuck, I spend all day untangling it. So I purchased I beautiful, well-made rope hammock from LL Bean, but the hammock base wasn't deep enough and the hammock swing hit the ground. so I returned it. I thought I'd try again and was careful to select dimensions that should work with this hammock, but I have the same issue. Not sure why. I wouldn't have this issue at all if the swing hammock they provided was of a thicker material as they described. I don't like false advertising! I'm now outside of the return window and have a beautiful hammock base that I can't use. Not happy! ... show more

I’m not sure how easy it was to assemble personally because my wife did it for me as a surprise. I mean if she can do it, I’m going to say it’s pretty easy. To be completely honest, I’m on the “a little more to love” spectrum but well below the suggested weight limit, and it did seem to be a little flimsy. My wife, who is an absolute twig, even experiences a little wobble while in it. With that being said, I believe it’s still fairly sturdy and trust it. The hammock itself is made of a canvas like material with very thick rope and is very good quality. Again, when I get it in I trust it. Now here’s the tricky part. I highly recommend knowing your center of balance before getting in it. If my backyard cameras were on, I could make an amazing hammock falls compilation!! This is all user error and has nothing to do with the swing. But I felt I needed to at least warn others before they dove deep with relaxing expectations and ate dirt, literally. ... show more

It exceeded my expectation of what I had assumed of it. Definitely has the sturdiness you are wanting and also with two people the maneuverability of it is a piece of cake. You can put it together yourself but it’s definitely a lot easier if you had three people. One to hold the wood in place, one to hold the nut with the tool, and one to screw in all the pieces. ... show more

The stand was easy to put together and looks great. Initially it worked fine, though it always feels like you have to balance carefully or you’ll fall off. I bought a sturdier fabric hammock to help with this but it didn’t totally solve it. After having it about 6 months (in Southern California), the layers of wood are cracked/coming apart all over the entire frame. I knew it was cheap but expected it to last at least a year or two.
