Sometimes all you need is a short extension. I use this for a 120Volt welder. The 12 gauge wire is the same size that is in the wall. This will result in minimal voltage drop on the 20 amp circuit. For high demand equipment it is best to use the shortest extension cord you can. The proper wire gauge is also important. If you are not familiar with voltage drop and power requirements most manuals have a chart listing extension cord requirements. This one is perfect for my needs. Recommended.

It's not often that you can buy a heavyweight extension cord for this price. It is very sturdy and perfect for adding extra reach for an appliance. I use it for my sander which has a very short cord. The plus fits securely in the outlet and does not easily come loose if accidentally pulled. A great deal, I highly recommend.

This GREATIDE grounded 3' cord is ideal for short extension runs. Although it may be able to handle up to 20 amps under certain conditions, for safety you should adhere to the manufacturer's 15-amp rating. The cord is UL listed for outdoor use; care should be taken not to place it where it may be subjected to abrasion or heavily weighted objects. The black color works well for most applications -- but seeing it in the dark is difficult, so be mindful it isn't located where it could be a trip hazard. Though the cord is flexible, I found it needed several days laid out in a warm space to recover from being coiled inside the cardboard sleeve that held originally held it. The cost is reasonable, considering the product uses 12-gauge wire instead of the standard 14-gauge (more copper = higher expense). Note that the seller offers this cord line in lengths from 3' to 30' -- the price per foot decreases as the length increases.
