  • This thing is amazing!
Size: US
I recently purchased this and I’m on day 16 of the cycle for baby chicks and ALL 12 eggs are showing as fertilized !!! This thing is AMAZING! You select the preset and forget it! The Humidity control, ease of use, and temperature control makes this machine a great value for the money I spent! However, I came to buy two more and the price of the machine went up by $20! I’m hoping to find this one on sale again so I can purchase more! ... show more

  • Feature packed incubator
Size: US
A few years ago we attempted to hatch chicken eggs as part of a school project. We borrowed an incubator from an agriculture learning co-op and could only hold onto it for a certain number of weeks, so we had one attempt to turn a bunch of eggs into chickens. It didn’t go well for us. Now we have this incubator, and it has so many more features to foster success. First and foremost it comes with really good instructions on how to set it up and use as well as tips for success. Setup was a breeze with the step by step guide for putting it together and setting up. It also includes a standard wall plug as well as an adapter to run off batteries, so you have options of where to do you incubating. Once setup and plugged in, you add water to the bottom basin and allow the machine to handle humidity levels depending on what types of eggs you are hatching. A really convenient option is the slide out tray for adding more water - which you can do without taking the cover off or powering down. The control panel lets you select the types of eggs so the temperature, humidity level, and egg turning schedule are set for you, as well as a countdown to the typical hatch time for your bird type. There is also a custom option if you have eggs not on the presets (chicken, quail, pigeon, duck, or goose). The eggs are one a mesh panel so they don’t fall through, even the smallest of quail eggs. Another flat piece will turn to rotate the eggs automatically, and will stop roasting right before hatch so you don’t risk getting their little bird legs caught in the mechanism. A really cool feature is the egg light that is built in on the top. You set an egg in the cradle or indent and turn on the light to see inside the egg shell. Based on the accompanying chart in the instructions you can verify the progression of your birds throughout the process, and weed out any eggs that are not properly progressing. I don’t understand the science of it, but the eggs that are not progressing somehow affect the viability of those around it. Overall this is a really nice feature-packed incubator that can handle just about any time of bird eggs, and is well worth what it cost. ... show more

  • great quality good design!
Size: US
This is a well-designed incubator with an appealing and compact size that does not take up much space. However, its water system is not particularly convenient for individuals who are frequently away from home. For someone who works long hours and returns after midnight, it can be frustrating to have to manually add precise amounts of water with an eyedropper, especially when more affordable alternatives offer gravity-fed waterers or pumps with tubes that draw water from bottles. For those able to monitor and refill the water supply regularly, this incubator could be an excellent choice, offering great value for the price and an attractive appearance. While everything functioned as intended, the water system design prevents it from being the top recommendation. ... show more

  • Ready for the Backyard Chicken Phase
Size: US
Backyard chickens seem to be one of those things people eventually work their way into. It usually starts with a garden, then maybe a compost pile, and suddenly someone is talking about egg production and incubators. Connecticut is unfortunately well known for ticks and Lyme disease, so I’d be happy to host a few mercenaries in that war that pay me for the privilege in healthy, cholesterol- and choline-rich eggs. This incubator is designed for small-scale hatching projects and holds up to 12 eggs. The automatic turning feature is important because it keeps the embryos developing evenly without having to manually rotate the eggs several times a day. Temperature control and humidity management are also critical when incubating eggs, and this unit provides adjustable settings for both. Being able to monitor and control those conditions makes the process much more consistent than trying to improvise a setup. The built-in egg candler is a nice addition as well. Candling lets you check embryo development during incubation without removing the eggs from the system for long periods. For someone starting out with small-scale hatching or a backyard flock, a compact incubator like this provides a controlled environment that’s much easier to manage than trying to do it manually. It’s a simple setup that makes the whole process more approachable for beginners. ... show more

  • Surprisingly Solid 12 Egg Incubator at a Backyard Friendly Price
Size: US
Spring finally arrived, and I’ve run my first batch through this little 12 egg incubator. Out of the box it feels decent at 3.5lbs and setup was painless thanks to a clear step by step guide. The digital display is bright, the menu buttons are intuitive, and the built-in automatic turner (often a paid add on with competing brands) worked flawlessly. Compared with my older seven egg unit, the extra capacity and compact footprint are a welcome upgrade for a small backyard flock operation. Let’s address the elephant in the coop: this machine costs a fraction of the big name models. So far, that hasn’t meant compromises. It’s holding a steady temperature, the integrated turning tray flips every egg on schedule, and humidity control is straightforward. If longevity matches these early impressions, this incubator will be the best “no-brainer” purchase of the season. For hobbyists who want reliable performance without the premium price tag, this unit ticks every box. ... show more
