This coffee maker is perfect for filling a travel mug with hot coffee for on the go or at home/work. I brew about 14 ounces and still have plenty of room for cream and sugar (and I really like cream and sugar). Initially, I was concerned about the valve when I ran the pre-use cleaning cycle because the water spurted out intead of having a smooth stream. However, I decided to try it with a coffee pod before returning the item, just to be thorough and fair. From the first coffee pod brew, this maker has poured to perfection. It's simply perfect every time. No mess, no fuss, and my mug fits perfectly without removing the tray. I take the little pod holder out after each use, dump the used pod, rinse the holder and put it back for next time — easy. It's extremely lightweight, so if you're a heavy-handed person, you need to take care with handling it. It's a one-button operation with options for brewing iced coffee (haven't tried that yet), and it comes with a separate pod alternative basket if you want to brew loose ground coffee or tea leaves, etc. I'm so glad I didn't return it. It's a great product, and the only one I could find at such a good price (half the cost of basic higher-end models). If you're not looking for fancy bells and whistles in your next coffee maker purchase, and just want a great cup of coffee, search no more! :)

I tried an already ground coffee that my sister gave me cause she had it ‘laying around’ I couldn’t tell if it was the old, unwanted coffee, or if I hadn’t thoroughly rinsed the interior of the machine correctly when I cleaned it before my first cup. The machine isn’t super fancy. It seemed to work ok. A word of warning is that it will brew/use all of the water you pour into the water reservoir at the top of the machine. If you want to make enough coffee, or hot water to fill your cup, it might be easiest to fill your cup or mug with the volume of coffee or hot water you want to drip back into your mug, and pour that exact amount into the reservoir. Mugs tend to backpour, and the reservoir target is kind of small(an oversized cappuccino mug would be difficult to pour into the top without spilling out all over the outside the machine and reservoir. Also, as it drips the hot water or coffee back into your mug, it tends to splash a bit around the area your mug is. My counter was a bit wet. You will need to wipe up the splash puddles after each mug is done brewing. I needed a ‘cup of coffee’ solution in the mornings and this fit my price point. There are probably other, “neater” k-cup makers on the market, but this one does work for me in my particular situation. If you give this as a gift, you should reconsider your life choices and apologize.

There's a rubber hose deep down inside of it that constantly pops off which sends the steam up & over into the cup. When it comes off it makes crazy noises & sends the steam all over the back of my wall & soaks the appliance. It's too small & tight down inside of it to fix it & rig it permanently somehow so I gave up & tossed it. Not worth the couple bucks you think you're saving over to get a better designed one. Plus it's cheaply made elsewhere on it. Top is held by a small cheap hinge that could break easy. Drips water onto the cord constantly. Just not good overall.

It brewed much faster than my “brand name” machine that has been replaced twice since May. I want to like this, but it’s shaped so strangely that my coffee cups don’t fit in the slot good enough and hot coffee is spraying everywhere. I might have to return it because it’s driving me crazy. Though it was super fast and seemed pretty hot. Updating to change review from 3 stars to 1. Which had they not reached out to me, I would not have changed it. But telling me to change my cups or use a different amount of water is not a suggestion that works. I’ve used these cups with every other system I’ve used with no problem. Using less water will give me mess than 8 ounces. That’s ridiculous. And I’m not going to buy “taller” cups. How about changing the design so a normal cup fits in the holder. And FYI I tried several different sizes and styles of cups. Update two - going back to my original star rating. Seller reached back out to me with more info.
