Features

  • HANDS-FREE: Never need to take your hands off the work-piece. When we need to shut the power off right away, it can be very dangerous and troublesome to hunting around for a switch under your router table or table saw. With this safety power switch, you can simply turn off the tools by a knee, a thigh or even a hip without much effort. A lot safer and easier than usual.
  • EASY TO LOCATE: Large paddle for emergency stop. Engaged with a large green recessed ON button safeguarding against accidental starts, and a large red, easy to see OFF paddle. No more feeling around underneath your table to find your switch. The large sign paddle uses high-hardness materials and is more durable.
  • SIMPLE WIRING: No need complicated wiring. The switch has two cords. The 1.5 feet long female cord is to accept the power source plug from your router or other power tool, and the 5.5 feet long male cord is to plug into your standard wall outlet. Just plug it in and you are ready to go. Both cords are heavy duty to stand up to everyday exposure in workshops.
  • SUPER EASY INSTALL: Several minutes tops that's all it takes. The on/off power switch is installed just two screws and can be mounted to most type of material.
  • COMPATIBILITY: This switch is approved by UL, CE, RoHS standards. Compatible with basic electrical boxes and table saws, router tables, drill presses and other electrical workshop equipment. The paddle switch allows a maximum current of 16 amperes and 1800 watt power. Please keep this in mind when connecting to the machine.

  • Very high quality, use it with any tools, to make tools safer.
Beware this does have an 18 awg (American Wire Gauge) gauge power cord. You can run 10 amps on an 18 awg cord, according to U.S. laws and NEC code. The NEC code does not allow a 15 amp circuit for a house or building on anything smaller than 14 awg, which is significantly larger (visibly 50% larger) than 18 awg. So if you're running a power tool, generally your cords, power cord, extension cord, and wiring in the wall, should be a 14 gauge, or 12 gauge. You can use 16 awg for a short power cord, from the tool, to the wall outlet, because the manufactures consider that some loss of power is ok, but the risk is, a small power cord can create significantly more heat if run at or near 15 amps. The general rule is, for 15 amp saws, induction motors, planers, jointers, sanders, routers, pipe threaders, 1/2" drills, should be run on a 15 amp power cord, meaning 14 awg wire. Using 18 awg for a heavy duty power tool, even for the power cord, is not really acceptable. An 18 gauge wire, although of course it will work, it does introduce some risk of melting or overheating in extreme use cases. The wire will likely get warm, at least warm to the touch, and potentially hot if you're doing vacuuming or running a large dust collector motor with a 1.5 hp 17 amp motor, or using a steady state sander or router, or something with a high amp draw. For short, quick bursts, like a nailer with a small pancake air compressor that only runs for 1 minute, it doesn't matter what kind of cord you use, you can use a wisp of trash for the wiring. But for continuous duty tools, you cannot use 18 gauge wire, because it's not approved by the NEC for building wiring specifications, and it's really not safe. It's actually not safe, it can overheat and cause a fire hazard. Regarding this switch, if you could replace the cords with 14 awg wire, it would be ideal. But the switch is high quality, it has a good solid feel when you push the start button. And it's very easy to shut off, requiring very little effort. I have the switch mounted sideways and it works fine, although you do need gravity to pull the "STOP" paddle down, because it's not spring loaded. I mounted this switch under a radial arm saw, on the edge of the table, so you can do rip cuts without trying to fumble with the radial arm power switch which is located near the motor. This is a really good product, and for the money, I will be buying another one, because it's a good value. Be careful opening the package, it was shipped in a loose bag, and I didn't realize there were wires inside, so I cut open the bag with a razor knife and cut into the 18 awg power cord on this switch. That's my fault. But just be careful opening it, there isn't' any padding in the package. Good product. Search Amazon for 14 awg "SO CORD" or 14 awg 12 foot power cord. Try to find one that is flexible and soft. Or cut a cord off an old power tool you are throwing away, and then you can upgrade the cord to this. I've used it with no problems, and it doesn't affect the performance of a radial arm saw with a 10 amp motor. ... show more

  • Great safety add on for my older Delta 10" cabinet saw!!
I added one of these on/off switches to my older Delta 10" cabinet saw because the on/off switch wasn't very accessible in an emergency! The big off paddle can be activated with your knee or hip (or foot for that matter) in case of emergency ! Very easy to install and appears to be well constructed. only time will tell how long it will last. i am going to get another one. for my router table! ... show more

  • Easy button to control the router table
The large stop button works well. I didn’t look close when I purchased this ands didn’t notice it is only a switch for one tool. It works perfectly and is easy to mount to a table, etc. but if you are looking for something to turn on and off dust collection and a tool, this isn’t it.

  • Works great on 14 amp 1hp table saw for light use
I bought this to retrofit onto an old Craftsman table saw with a 14amp, 1hp motor, for home use. It works great for me. A great feature that wasn't in the description at the time is that it is a MAGNETIC SWITCH. It behaves like an ordinary switch with one very important safety feature: if the power goes out while you are using the machine (for example, if there's a power outage, the plug comes out of the wall, or if your motor trips the breaker) then the switch automatically goes to "off". So if the power goes back on, or if you plug it back in, or if you reset the breaker, the switch remains OFF until you intentionally turn it on again. An ordinary switch will just stay in the on position and your machine will immediately start running if you restore power, and this is a safety hazard. This switch prevents that. What I don't like: the cable is only 18 gauge (embossed on the outer insulation sheathing), so there is the risk of too much resistance, the cord heating up, and the breaker tripping. This hasn't been a problem for me so far, because I only run my table saw for a few minutes at a time and any heating in that 18 gauge cord cools down before it becomes a problem. Also, one of the mounting holes is blocked by the in & out cables, so you have to get creative how you mount it. I recommend this for lower-amperage motors (maybe 3/4 and less) even though as I say it works OK so far on my 1hp.) If you need it for a production shop where your machine will run a long time, be careful and the first few times you use it check the temperature of the cord regularly to make sure it is not heating up. ... show more

  • Happy with product
Installed on an older Delta table saw where the power switch was uncomfortable to reach. Installed in a much more convenient location. Much safer and easier to use. Works great.

  • Finishing touch to router table
Very nice switch. Have used this switch once before. Well made and easy to use. Mounted it to router wing using a piece of one inch flat bar. Bent it and screwed to the bottom of the table. Would recommend this type of switch on all machines for the safety factor. Highly recommended.
