My husband and 2 of his buddies took almost an entire Saturday to put it together. it was not easy. but the finished product is beautiful. it’s sturdy, has a high-end look and feel to it. holding up very well to the elements. I installed this canopy in my back yard a few years ago. I was able to put it up myself though I almost broke it in the process. I would recommend at least 2 people to assemble. I bolted it into concrete and the frame has been there for 3ish years all year around without any issues. The canopy was left up for 1 full year. Summer and winter(rain, no snow) and after 2 years the poles were bent and the canvas had holes and I contacted the company for a replacement and it was over $100. I haven’t bought a replacement yet, but am going to try a standard canvas and modify it myself. The setup was easy when the directions are being followed. The good: This purchase was made because in the summer the death rays make it impossible to sit in the backyard to enjoy the lake view. The pergola is sturdy considering it isn’t very heavy and isn’t made of the best material. The bad: The canopy tore and the replacement is 85.00. Now considering the pergola did not make it through a whole year without a part malfunctioning is very concerning. For the amount of money spent on this pergola you’d think it would last longer than it did. Took two of us three hours to assemble. Lots of climbing up and down a ladder to assemble the top. Use an 8ft + ladder. It looks more expensive than it is. Quality is a C+. Some of the smaller parts were crushed and needed to be bent back into shape. Plastic hooks holding the shade up are of the lowest quality and we plan to replace them. Instructions were a convoluted joke and useless. If you want to spend 3 hours going up and down on a ladder, this is the pergola for you! It took a few hours to install, definitely needs at least 2 people but probably easier with 3-4. I love the functionality of the canvas covering - being able to tie it back before any storms will greatly contribute to the canvas having a longer lifespan. I have been able to also string up lights and a misting system around this pretty easily. I did see hooks on the corners where I can potentially hang potted plants if desired, which is great. We recently renovated our backyard with green turf, rocks/stones, pavers and concrete. No more weeds! With all the work done, the cost went over budget and we couldn’t splurge on constructing a wooden pergola. After some research, I decided to get this. I was initially worried about the packaging and delivery after reading some reviews but Amazon was great. The package came in a big truck with 2 person. I got them to carry it into the garage. Installation took me about half a day. I had a friend come by to help. And I was lucky to have two of those platform ladders. It made installation much easier without needing to keep climbing up and down a ladder. I intend to wrap the metal post with wood planks and also build a privacy screen with horizontal planks on one side. My fence is a tad low and I want more privacy from my neighbors. For the roof, I intend to get the clear PVC roof panels and have those bolted down to the top. That way, I can still enjoy the sun but also have a year round protection for my outdoor furniture. The media could not be loaded. So, after ordering a pergola that I really liked from wayfair, & having that nightmarish experience, this pergola is damn near perfect!!! The box was delivered in great shape, & after unboxing and inspection of the contents, everything was in the box, with only 1 flaw. One of the corners of the "C" bar was bent, but that was easily fixed. Putting the pergola together is definitely a 2 person job, so myself & my fiancé were able to do it with no problem, in probably about a 2 hr time period. Sn: it's alot easier if you have a socket wrench. My only complaint would be the very small holes & anchors to anchor it to the ground. The pergola stands pretty stable by itself, but just knowing that only the very flimsy, easily bendable, anchors that are usually reserved for a tent,are included to adhere to the ground makes me apprehensive. So in order to combat that & add extra security, I've purchased additional ground anchors. I'm hoping that they are small enough to fit in the holes, but I haven't received them yet. I will provide an update once they are received. 🤞🏿 Update: I received the uniprime trampoline stakes, u shaped heavy duty anchors, & they did fit in the holes. They're not wide enough to put each end in 2 holes, so in order to provide extra support, I positioned them in alternating holes. ... show more
