Microphone, camera, light, reflector panel, teleprompter - this thing is so useful. I have it mounted to my VIVO monitor stand holding my Sony a7ii for livestreaming, and it's the most convenient thing ever. (obviously i don't have the 3-4 cables hanging from the camera in this shot, so you can see the arm in action.) I wish I had 5 more. ****** UPDATED 5/9/2021 - Unfortunately every plastic part on the arm has started to crack and split in the 4 months i've been using this magic arm. Now one of them is nearly splintered in two, even though I only mount a 11oz light on it most of the time. The only part on the entire thing that's plastic, and it's failing horribly. Very sad about it, so reducing the overall score to 4. Be gentle on the plastic parts or they'll break. ... show more

Love Magic Arms. I have a few but this arm has one 'plastic' locking ring nut. I mount two of these on the end of a Wemacro rail system to hold the subject and a flash. The plastic locking ring allows micro movement, not good for high magnification photography. I threw the plastic locking nut away and used one of the two aluminum locking nuts from the other end. Can't imagine why they would scrimp on this one small piece on an otherwise good magic arm. BTW I would not attach anything weighing over a pound at full extension. Magic Arm's are an invaluable time saver for positioning macro rail photography accessories! ... show more

The idea behind this is solid, but three knobs in a row arrived cracked, and the design of the knob is clearly to blame. What I don’t understand is they use metal for the vast majority of the rest of the item but settled for a cheap plastic knob that is lightly pressure fit to a simple metal nut. The first time I thought I might have broken the knob, so I ordered a new one at my cost. When this one arrived before touching anything else, I examined the knob, taking the pictures included in this review. I returned it asking for a replacement, and got a third item with similar cracks! The funny part is, a simple tack welded metal knob wouldn’t have this issue and would make this a fantastic item! I’ve settled for using a wrench on the nut for now, as the knob is useless, and will be using a friend’s welder to tack on a simple metal knob. Still, that I have to do that myself to make the product useful is reason enough for the review. Good designed ruined by settling for a cheap plastic knob. ... show more

I don't know what kind of durability this stuff is supposed to have, or the life expectancy of an accessory like this... but the mechanics on the inside gave out and one end doesn't get tight anymore. I have a suspicion that under the ball joint there is a washer that is meant to hold it all in place, nice and tight, and that came off somehow. It just hangs making it impossible to do anything with. I've been hoping and trying to twist it back into place but it's just not catching. I wish it was set up so that all you would have to do is tighten the black piece holding the ball join and it would tighten up again, but so far no luck. It's was a great tool till now. ... show more

As a content creator, i wouldn't recommend this to you! I bought it to mount a 7 inch monitor on my camera but it was too weak to hold it together. No matter how hard i try to tighten it up it always loosens up. Gotta mention that batteries weren't even attached to the monitor. This arm never stays in the position that i want to achieve and one of the pieces got broke while i was trying to tighten up. Every single part of this arm is too weak! ... show more

I was surprised that it seems to made of steel it is heavy but sturdy. I was expecting flimsy aluminum. I plan to use it at home, not carry it around anywhere so I prefer stability over lightweight. It's perfect for what I wanted. One end screws into the tripod mount and the other end slides into the cell phone bracket. ... show more

First use it broke... (Correction... while setting up and attaching it to my stand... I didn’t actually get to use it!) Out the box this piece of trash never properly tightened, there was a cracking sound that ended up being the base of the stew that’s responsible for the tightening mechanism. I might be able to salvage the end hot shoe for something... (paper weight) I wouldn’t recommend this product, pay more to get a better option or you’ll probably pay for this junk and then ultimately have to pay to replace it! I’m just glad it broke while my equipment wasn’t attached... ... show more

📷We had been using it for many months and holds very well!, the arm makes it easy for us to move it as we need it📷 💡💡It is very light and sturdy, which is convenient when the ceiling where you put it does not have a beam. 😎We have another one for the light and it works excellent too, 😥it was terrible to go crazy with tripods here and there, kicking them and then stressing out to fix it back in the previous position, specially if you use chroma key, you do not want to be moving lights around, once it works, just do not ever move it again! 💛 ... show more
