After watching numerous You Tube videos, I concluded that the best way to solder is to fill the barrel with short lengths of solder 3/4 of the way from the top of the barrel, heat it until melted, then plunge the stripped wire immediately into the barrel. As for the heat shrink tubing, don't waste your time with a hair dryer, just take a torch to it. Don't worry about the size; it will shrink almost 200%! The robustness of the tubing is a blessing because you don't want it shrinking while you're heating up the wire. ... show more

Works great. Crimps down easily, I do have a crimping tool meant for lugs. Eyelet fit great where needed. Heat shrink is adhesive. That's only heat shirk you should be using.

I like the variety of sizes. The thickness of the lugs are a little thin but gets the job done. The quality of the heat shrink wasn’t too bad but again, kind of thin.

This is the second set of these I’ve purchased. Use them to make custom length battery cables using 1/0 wire. Mostly for use with the installation of a inverter in mine and others RV’s . Surprisingly easy once you do a few using a hammer lug crimper they create very durable nice looking cables. Highly recommended ... show more
