  • AWESOME Fold-Out Solar Panel, 60W measured in Chem-Trailed Sky (Will Update as Testing Continues...)
Color: Navy Blue
EVALUATION SUMMARY: Great Design, Impressive Performance, Durable Covering and Wiring, Multiple DC OUT Adapters Included, Strong Adjustable Legs (but needs a 3rd leg to prevent middle sag), and Secure when Wrapped Up for transport. COST-BASED OVERALL VALUE RATINGS... =================================== RATING #1: 5 Stars At $160 price point, including tax. RATING #2: 4 Stars At $210 price point, including tax. NOTE: Tested on a solar generator with "300W" output performance specified. Well-constructed, easy to setup, easy to wrap up and go. Max output from chem-trailed sky was 60W when positioned perpendicular to sun (shielded behind chem-trail-expanded cloud cover). Wrapped in heavy nylon cloth and two tight well-designed velcro-secured prop-up legs. Would have preferred 3 legs, as it sags slightly in the middle when the ground surface is uneven. Product includes a multi-plug adapter to feed DC IN on most brands of solar generators (battery packs which charge on DC IN voltage up to 20 volts or more, and usually contain a 110v DC-to-AC inverter). I'm guessing that in clear skies this would put out more than 85W, possibly reaching the 105W spec in direct overhead (summer) sun without chemtrail clouds. Unit folds up quickly and very securely for carry, and the nylon cover is clearly strong enough to handle some abuse, and will keep out most dry contaminants but you should avoid misters, rain, waves, and beverages. Summary: a GREAT BUY at $160 (189 + tax minus $50 coupon), and a GOOD BUY without the $50 coupon. ... show more

  • Nice accessory for camping
Color: Navy Blue
So far, this is the best solar panel I’ve ever used, light powerful, it can charge both my electric devices and power bank, perfect product for the camping

  • Can't use it
Color: Light Gray
I can't rate the product's functionality since the connectors don't fit my portable power station. I was under the impression that the included 5521 adapter would fit most other devices, but not in my case... disappointing

  • We haven't had to use them often, but they're a must-have back up
Color: Navy Blue
We live in an RV that largely stays connected to city power. However, in power outages, this has come in ridiculously handy to at least have power to charge our phones and flashlights. It's permanently sitting in our emergency bag, ready to grab and go if we need to. Compact, easy to carry, but works as well as any other solar panel type system we've used! ... show more

  • The most power for its size of those I've tested.
Color: Navy Blue
Let's start with its IP67 and IP65 ratings. The IP67 applies to the active solar area only. IP65 applies to the rest of it to protect against splashing. This is the only foldable I can recall with a more realistic description of the panel's overall protection against water ingress. The waterRESISTANT claim is spot on in the general sense, in my opinion. Many if not most assert IP65 waterPROOF. A little more. An IP65 is protection from total dust ingress and low pressure water jets from any direction. The low pressure water jets might be a garden hose sprayed at a distance from the panel. IP67 and IP68 provide the dust protection and immersion under certain conditions and in that context, offer greater waterproofing. Power Mid morning testing on a clear day extracted 4.53 amps @ 16.3 volts for just under 74 watts. the Apollo (105w) was being tested with 4 others (all 100w) under the same conditions and consistently produced 2 to 3 watts more than the others. Under better conditions, am confident it will do better. A note on panel power and efficiency. The specs the manufacturers claim for solar panels result from industry standard test conditions (STC). If a panel produce 105 watts under those conditions, that's the rating it gets. Hence the 105 rating for this foldable. We can't consistently reproduce those conditions at will in the wild, but we can get lucky. Then, we will likely observe an exceptionally high output much closer to the panels' specs. In an actual working situation at max output as in charging an appropriately sized battery bank in the bulk stage, if a panel is producing 70% to 80% of its rated power under the conditions I test, I consider the panel as doing its job. This panel falls in that group. The conditions where I have consistently observed the highest output among the many panels I have in the stable have been at elevations of 7000 ft and higher where the conditions of cell temperature, solar irradiance and air mass can get closer to ideal on a regular basis. In all of the foldable portable panel testing I've done, I've had only ONE that couldn't pass the testing and it failed miserably. I have no way to measure the efficiency of a panel without comparing it to others. Generally speaking a 100w rated panel that is 23% efficient should be smaller than a 100w of lesser efficiency. I am working on a test method that will determine the relative efficiency of solar panels, but it doesn't produce exact efficiency numbers. I suspect that all of the 23% efficient panels will cluster within a few points of each other. This is the lightest I've seen of the 100w class foldables coming in at under 6.95 lbs for its 105w rating and that might be a darn good indicator of its efficiency. One nit I usually have with these foldables is connectivity. The basic requirement I have for connectivity outside the customary USB variations is MC4. From there I can adapt to anything else with minimal effort by buying or making it. Of course, coming with more options is better. This comes with no MC4, but 7709, XT60, 8020, 5521 and QC 3.0 USB-A & USB-C. In summary, it does seem more efficient for its output to size and weight. Adjustable kicktands. Consider it water resistant. No MC4. A nice package. I would make an XT60 to MC4 pigtail. $1.71 per watt. ... show more
