Solar fans move a good amount of air with just normal sunshine. Not too loud, but under bright sun you can hear them running. I installed them in a big metal tool shed that is located far back on my property with no power. In the heat with moisture from rains and humidity. Now there are no worries about moldy smells when i go get the tools i need for various weekend yard care. Definitely a headache free solution to many ventilation needs. Just add sunshine. It doesn’t operate without sun, no battery backup. The fans have held up with no issues.

These arrived just in time as I am Camping this week in Florida and we've had record highs. I thought I might die just sitting in the tent resting. But these came in and MAN, what a difference! This is basically a 5 watt solar panel attached to twin 9 volt DC brushless motors, each with their own on off switch and connector to the y connector of the solar panel. There is no solar charge controller but it is perfectly paired with these motors. They are whisper quiet and you can tell what's going on with the sun outside by how fast they spin. When the sun is super bright they are at high speed and move a bunch of air. Because there is no battery when it gets cloudy or at night they slow down or stop. But that is by design and expected. I might add a 9-volt lithium battery in series to help charge up for overnight. But they are working as designed and working well. And it is so freaking nice to not have to worry about batteries. I can just leave camp and the tent stays ventilated and cool while all zipped up. Packaging: Non-Insulated Cardboard Box. Instructions: Great Quick Start Guide and panel and motor are well labeled. Materials: Plastic, Acrylic & Steel. Fit & Finish: Great Pros: Super Quiet; Easy Setup; No Worry Operation. Separate On/Off Switches; Nice Length on Cable. Cons: None Lives Up to Marketing Claims: Yes Summary: A worry free way to keep any small space well ventilated from the hot summer sun. I would not only recommend, I would also buy again. Superb! Solar Powered Fan is a good choice for basic ventilation in small to medium-sized spaces like greenhouses, sheds, or chicken coops. It's easy to set up, seems durable, and provides a good amount of airflow for its size. However, if you need powerful ventilation for a large space or consistent airflow throughout the day and night, you might want to consider a solar fan with a battery backup or a different ventilation system altogether.

When there's no sunshine the fan doesn't work

Tjis is a nice lightweight, easy to use vent solution. It can easily be adapter for a variety of scenarios. I had planned to use this in my RV for when I am somewhere without an A/C hookup, and it does work great for that, however I ended up moving this out to my catio. We've had a crazy hot summer and I have 2 rescue cats that live in a very fancy outdoor catio...small trees with treehouse for climbing, fountains with UV sterilizers that I've been add ice to, a stream, cat houses with a heater in winter and cooling pads, etc. Unfortunately, as I said it's been unseasonably hot, and there is not great airflow due to the walls and clear polycarb roof. I don't have electric outlets near the catio (we ran hard wiring underground for the lights and fountains and heaters), so adding a fan for circulation was going to be problematic. When I stumbled on to this solar fan, it meets all the criteria and doesn't need to be tied in to the electricity. It was easy to set up, and once I determined the best angle for the solar panel it got the necessary power. I can tell the cats are appreciating it as they both tend to hang out in the prime airflow paths. I'm really happy with this fan, and it seems the cats are too.

I am using this for a small greenhouse set up where vents and more passive ventilation are sometimes not enough. I needed something solar powered. It was pretty simple to install and get working. The build quality is ok, not the best I’ve used, not the worst. It should hold up to different seasons of ,at times, rough weather. I use it for exhaust only, you may want to use two, one for in and one for out. The air flow was maybe a little less than I expected or wanted. If I had very expensive crops or animals, I’d probably upgrade to something better but for Mom’s tomatoes and veggies, it did the job to project them from a lot of heat stress. I would say this performs about as good as other options in the $40 price range, so I likely wouldn’t pay more for it.
