My husband installed a trolling motor tray in our bass boat in about 40 minutes, using the included template as a location/cutting guide. He used sticky carpet protector film from a home center (used to protect carpet during Open Houses) to keep dust out of the boat carpet. He also wore a respirator and ran a vacuum close to the saw to keep dust to a minimum. The floor is plywood with fiberglass on top, so my husband spread a thin layer of 5-minute epoxy resin along the cut edges to prevent moisture from wicking into the wood. He also put a bead of silicone under the lip of the tray around each screw hole to keep water from seeping into the screw holes. The biggest complaint is that there is no drain hardware included with this tray. My husband used a pvc barb fitting that he ground down as thin as possible and glued in the drain hole from the top side using silicone. He attached a length of clear tubing to the barb fitting with a hose clamp on the underside and ran the hose into the keel, where water can drain to the bilge. He also sealed off the other 4 small holes in the bottom of the tray, since they didn't line up with any of the holes in his trolling motor pedal. This is a great tray for the price - even after buying our own drain hardware, it is much cheaper than any other tray available. ... show more

Worked perfect for what it says. Got tired of the petal all over the front deck. Took me 15 minutes to trace, cut and install. The screws they give you are way to small. Bought some Stainless ones.
