I received a 50 piece set of 6 cavity clamshells with ready to fold gift boxes that fit the clamshells perfectly. The folded boxes measure approximately 4.5 X 3 X .07 inches. The boxes already have the acetate windows in place. I just needed to fold on the score lines. I found it helpful to use a brayer or plastic scraper to go over the folded score lines which made the box look neater when done and keeps it's shape. I noticed a warning, in the item description, not to pour wax hotter than 149 degrees. This is a cooler temp than I normally pour wax melts. I haven't poured any using these clamshells but I will be mindful of that warning.

I make homemade candles and decided to also try making homemade wax melts. I love that these wax melt containers are so giftable! The clear containers have 6 perfect sized cavities, without a top. After the wax has cooled, you slide them into the folded box with a window, and voila, a beautiful and practical gift! I also ordered some clamshell wax melts holders at the same time, thinking these would be the same but with a cardboard box. These aren't actually clamshell type, they are just the bottom piece without the lid - the box becomes the holder. In trying both the clamshell and these, I prefer these because they look so much prettier and more complete when boxed. I highly recommend these, 5 out of 5 stars. Keep in mind that they are not a true "clamshell" style, just the bottom parts with the 6 cavities and the cardboard boxes. My last picture shows a clamshell style (left) next to these (right) for comparison.

I'm sorry to say that I was disappointed by these. First of all, they were advertised as clamshells in the item description, but they are not. Clam shells have both a front and a back, hinged together and that snap closed. These are just the side that the melts are poured into, there's no back or lid of any kind. Secondly, the plastic is very thin. I poured my melts fairly cool routinely, and even so, it warped the plastic. Thirdly, clamshells like these are normally deep enough so that you pour enough wax that the cubes are connected a little bit at the top. These were not deep enough to do that, so each of the squares was completely separate. That made it difficult to pour them all uniformly, since you had to fill each cavity separately. That being said, the boxes are very nice, and they fit the molds perfectly. But the plastic needs to be thicker and the mold needs to be deeper so they hold a little bit more.

These are so easy to use to recycle soy wax from candles. Just add some new pure essential oil scents to your soy wax melted and mix all together. The directions say to take note: Poor wax into the six cavity melt plastic molds at below 149° F. I can then just take the wax, melt and resell them at a craft fair. These molds are evenly divided, making it easy to use a measured amount of wax. The gift box has a great professional look to them. Making these a perfect gift for a friend with a wax melting lamp. The only thing that concerns me is how much money these cost for packaging versus how much product cost. I do wish they were a little more affordable. Earning these a solid four stars.
