Description

Key Features: The aerodynamically-optimized form of the race version of the WRX STI is accurately rendered in lightweight and durable polycarbonate Separately molded parts are included in the kit to recreate side mirrors and rear wing The beginner-friendly yet highly adaptable TT-02 is a versatile and easy-to-maintain chassis Gun metal color mesh type wheels are paired with slick tires Stickers are included to recreate the markings of the car, as are masking stickers for use when painting Includes 540-type brushed Torque-Tuned motor Includes the Tamiya TBLE-02S ESC (brushless motor and brushed motor compatible) Overview: This model recreates the Subaru WRX STI car which took an impressive victory in the SP3T class of the Nurburgring 24 Hours race event at the legendary German circuit in May 2016. The car is powered by the same engine as in its production model - the EJ20 2-liter horizontally-opposed turbo engine. Tamiya has faithfully reproduced this sleek racing machine in 1/10 scale on the TT-02 entry-level on-road chassis. The TT-02 chassis incorporates many features to make it easy for the new R/C kit builder to assemble and learn from. The TT-02 chassis performs well as cornering and overall speed has been enhanced to take advantage of current electronics available on the market. In addition to the TT-02 being an ideal platform to start from, R/C hobbyists can expand its potential by adding many of the Hop- Up Options available to increase the cars speed and performance.

  • Fun Kit to build.
Bought this for my 6yo so we could continue our RC journey together! Now we both have drift cars and so the fun continues. Take your time building the kit and if you like to do hop-ups also known as upgrades also known as bank account killer it’s always dood to do them up front unless you like to replace things as they break. Bearings are a must and anything drivetrain related if you plan on running a brushless set-up. ... show more

  • Really had fun building this!
You will love this kit for the price! Not hard to build and paint just take your time. Fast car too, motor is tuned 540 for max torque. Used 2 cans of tamiya blue 16 and 1 can of the smoke. Apply 4-5 light coats and allow about 5 mins. dry time between coats.

  • Don't buy
horrible design. Wheels won't even turn. Don't waste ur money on this kit. One of my biggest regrets. It just sits dusty on my shelve.

  • REMEMBER TO LOOK AT THE SOLD SEPARATELY PARTS
Bought this product and it’s on me for not realizing there was more to purchase for the r/c car to actually function. Expect to spend another $60+ on parts you need. It’s really cool building something like this and customizing it how you want but the parts are just too cheap for me and for the price I thought there’d be everything you need. Oh well, check to make sure this is for you if you’re a first time r/c builder like myself. The parts are definitely cheap as in I installed every part going based off the instructions and make sure the covers and what not you install aren’t too tight. Took me hours trying to figure out why the vehicle wouldn’t accelerate or reverse until I loosened up the differential covers and motor cover. Every cover for the driveshaft and differential is just the slightest bit snug and even that is definitely too tight for the parts. I STILL have no reverse and only have it with the diff cover completely off. I will have to go to my local hardware store and find a couple of washers to space it out so it’s on snug but will still leave room to be able to let the drive train move freely. I lightly greased everything as shown and even applied some more of my own grease to see if maybe that was my issue and it wasn’t. If the spacing doesn’t work, I am going to grease every single individual gear even more to see if that will provide less friction which is what I’m currently having an issue with. The parts are cheap, the shell of the vehicle is plastic and it seems to come with whatever parts they decide to throw in. It says to purchase separately the steering servo, receiver, battery, charger, ESC, and a Transmitter (controller/remote). My box actually included an ESC so that was one thing I didn’t need. I would suggest purchasing the product, see everything you have, and then purchasing those sold separately items. I’m also still having issues with the motor beeping every time I accelerate or reverse. Any tips would be greatly appreciated and I hope this helps out those first time r/c builders like myself. ... show more

  • Not actual race worthy vehicle. Cheaply made.
For me this seemed to be very cheap in quality unlike my other cars. I had several issues with assembly bumper screws went thru both diff cases jamming the diffs. Shocks when assembled where very loose and had no tension right front when assembled was very loose. Maybe it was just a bad kit but wouldnt chance it again. Oh and as a side note no body was included with my kit but said it was ... show more
