Needed blackout drapes for our bedroom, after neighbor removed some massive trees on our border with them, which is now allowing far more sunlight to shine in our windows...not a bad thing but we do now need a better light blocking solution for our windows than the plantation blinds we currently have. Found these, read the reviews and they sounded great...just received them and WOW they are even better quality than I expected...love the look and feel of the fabric, they are stitched neatly and hang beautifully. Husband was impressed as well by how nice they are and they are true blackout curtains, not pretenders like others I've had in the past. Very pleased with this purchase and the price...as someone who can sew and owns a sewing machine, I could not make even just one panel of these, myself, at this price point. I also like that they are machine washable and that the liner is a soft textured black out fabric as opposed to a vinyl feeling one. These are a nice, substantial pair with excellent light-blocking ability; the pic is from the middle of the day and you can see there is minimal light leakage around the window (it's still light in the room because the doorway and the other, bigger window is completely uncovered). The tabs work well, though the end edge of the curtain is stiffer so it tends to sort of stay open at the margin rather than completely stacking flat. It works to "train" the curtain to bunch evenly by pleating it at the top, middle, and bottom (this is important to me because I don't want them to block any of the light from the window when we are not watching movies). Right out of the box, they smell fine. They ARE pretty wrinkled, and the "care sheet" is a bit lacking--don't understand why they can't be tumbled dry, nor what a "cool iron" really means. I used the "rayon/polyester" setting, just below "cotton blend" on my iron, with a damp press cloth over the curtain, and it took out most of the packing wrinkles without having any shiny texture change, but suggest you test this on the thick inner hem with your own iron settings. The texture is that of a coarse linen, very fine burlap, and I saw no flaws except for a bit of a pulled thread at the bottom hem of one of the panels. For me, this doesn't matter, since it's hidden behind the Chesterfield, and if fact, it was refreshing to see that the hems were all sewn nicely, without a lot of dangling or tangled threads. These are moderately heavy, so it's worth considering waxing your rod, to allow them to pull smoothly, and also making your own rod out of painted conduit, rather than accept the current FrankenRod trend, of a bunch of short segments screwed together, which will definitely sag under the weight. I love that there were so many color choices and am happy with the neutral gray, which is close to our wall color. Overall, I'm very happy! I suspect the remaining wrinkles will "fall out" over time. ... show more

I am really happy with these 100% linen blackout curtains! They do an amazing job blocking out light completely and have also helped keep the heat from coming into the room, which has been a huge plus. I love that they have the hidden hooks on the back because it gives them a much cleaner, more polished look without showing the curtain rod. They arrived packaged very nicely and were folded neatly. There were a few creases from being packaged, but a quick tumble in the dryer got most of them right out. Overall, these curtains are beautiful, well-made, and work exactly as advertised. I would definitely recommend them! They fit perfectly for my space and the material is nice and thick. ... show more
